Scourge's wings are far too skimpy.

Remember, those who think that FIRRIB usually think that the G1 animated series came before the comic books and toys and support having both Frenzy and Rumble not having the distinctive, sound-based powers originally given to them by their bios and instead having mad-shifting pile drivers for both of them.

No. Ravage already looks out of place in the Classics wave. Plus is 2010, who gives a fuck about tape decks and tapes? Those alt modes are obsolete. Just because it´s a new take on G1 dones´t mean they have to use alt modes that are obsolete by modern standards. A new Soundwave should not be a tape deck, but some sort of communications truck, since that would not look out of place.

I've been reading through the thread and I definitely think that Movie Prime has influenced this new "Classics Laser Rod Prime". They both turn into long nosed cabs, but there's more to it than that.

The designers could have given him a similar, but updated version of his original sword, but they went with something that looks very much like Movie Prime's arm blade. It's a similar shape, translucent orange with silver lines running alone it. Obviously the original G1 Optimus had a glowy orange axe in the cartoon/comic, but this looks like Movie Prime's sword.

Also, "Classics" style toys are generally quite blocky looking in their arms and legs, which mimmicks their original toys and cartoon models. It's kind of weird that this toy has much more rounded, organic lines on the legs and feet in particular, since the G2 Laser Rod toy had legs that are blocky as can be. The placement of the second pair of wheels on the thighs (rather than both pairs staying on the lower leg like the G2), resembles the Movie Prime as well. Combine all that with the extra blue colouring and flames on the vehicle mode and it does seem to me like the designers have deliberately injected some Movie Prime into the G2 homage.

It looks like a cool toy though and I like how the windshield isn't a cheat this time. If a version with more black and a clear sword is released, then I won't complain about the Movie influence creeping into the design. It's kind of interesting to see it actually, and the original toy was so good that copying it exactly wouldn't improve it very much.

The Gi Joe Defiant shuttle is based on this :

    http://www.britain-in-space.co.uk/1960/images/mustard2.jpg

Mustard The British Aircraft Corporation "Multi-Unit Space Transport And Recovery Device" design of 1964-1965 was a winged two-stage-to-orbit reuseable space shuttle using the 'triamese' concept. The three components of the design were lifting bodies with a configuration similar to the American HL-10 vehicle. BAC sought to reduce development cost by use of two boosters nearly identical to the orbiter vehicle.
Although the orbiter's engines would be firing at lift-off, it would start its burn to orbit with nearly a full fuel load. Propellant from the two boosters would be pumped into the orbiter prior to separation. This would potentially have allowed the orbiter to reach the moon - a unique capability for a winged reusable design. Various configurations were examined (back-to-back, triangular back-to-back, 2 x back-to back and 1 inline). Developed by a team led by Tom Smith, the MUSTARD vehicles would have been capable of being flown back via remote control or by a pilot.

Number stage 1: 2 in 1985 dollars. Flyaway Unit Cost $: 54.000 million.

    Status: Study 1968.
Gross mass: 424,270 kg (935,350 lb).
    Height: 36.00 m (118.00 ft).
    Diameter: 4.00 m (13.10 ft).
    Thrust: 4,794.40 kN (1,077,824 lbf).

I don't get all the hate on the Rumble and Frenzy. If there was no PE Shadow warriors, a lot less people would be bitching. I know if I never had the PE ones, I would get them.

    Anybody wanna mirror those?

Edit: Nevermind. Also, we've seen this picture before, and that is not silver on his arm; it's glare from whatever light the photographer was using when the picture was taken.

I was surprised by how skinny Frumble's legs were, but when he's hunched over some using his pile-drivers, I think it looks a lot better. In fact, if he had bigger, blockier legs, they may have impeeded the drivers. I wish the drivers themselves looked less like the sides of the tank untransformed, but I'm wondering if there is at least some kind of action feature to it. It would be great if you could rotate the turret on his back and make the drivers move up and down.

About Scourge, it's obvious his gun does some transforming, but it's not a Targetmaster, so what does it do? Does it just fold up to fit somewhere?

Man, I really wonder why TakHak absolutely refuses to send the stores painted photos of Wheeljack.
