I just got one today and I must say this is certainly THE Rodimus. Masterpiece be damned.

If a simple black version of him counts, then start crying. :lol

Too bad it's mail-away only. I would like to get one myself.

Just got him, a very cool figure. Only negatives I have with him are the arms coming off during transformation and the energon bow not staying attached to the roof. The only way I've gotten mine to stay is by removing the spoiler. Maybe I missed something in the instructions or don't have a panel flat enough. Anyone else have that problem?

I haven't opened my Takara one, so can't comment on that, but my Hasbro one suffers from this. I'm not bothered by it though, as I think it looks a little strange on the roof and prefer to leave it off.

Not sure what can be done with the bow, but the pop-off arms problem is probably related to a joint in the shoulder (the little cylinder-shaped piece with a socket the ball-joint from the body fit into) being too tight. If you take the shoulder apart, and use an X-acto knife or something to shave down some of the plastic around that cylinder piece, (the surfaces that rub together when that piece turns) it should help matters.

-At least it did with mine.

Those ball joint sockets that his shoulders attach with rotate too tightly. They are sockets in a cylinder shaped piece which did not rotate on mine and the arms popped off. When I noticed it (the cylindrical piece) was supposed to rotate, I rotated it a few times to make it loosen up a little. Now he transforms fine.

I'd say he's more a sort of burgundy myself.

lovely and shiny but it does look to scratch easy so the hasbro one or clear one are better play options.

So, I came up with alternate Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime transformations for his robot mode. Sorry about the pic quality. I took them with my iPodTouch, whose camera seems to be crap.

Ended up getting a Hasbro version. I have the Takara version but, I have a few paint chips from messing with him. I'll play with the Hasbro version, and admire the Takara one.

TBQH, he just looks like he's slouching in the first pic, and the second looks like Magnus told him to stand up straight while they're in public.

The engine block on the chest just looks odd.

I was begining to think I'd never see him, then kapow, found him at TRU as I stopped just by chance.

Great, great figure. Lots of fun, neat transformation.

EDIT: I'm an idiot and figured it out. Suburb figure! If only the pipes were able to rotate around he'd be an 11 out of 10.

This has Probably been discovered and posted already, but i was Transforming Rodimus into robot mode the other day and i was looking at the tabs on his bow that makes it able to fit on top in alt mode, and i found that, with a little care, his bow can store on his back.

Freakishly I just found this out myself today (dunno if it's mentioned elsewhere in this thread, which is still on my to-fully-read list). It's about as snug and stable as clipping it normally in alt mode (which in my experience isn't much) but it's still cool. Just one of those times you look at a figure and their weapon and decide 'This has to store away somehow', especially on a TFA figure. :)

Sorry to bring this back up, but can someone show how does his bow exactly store on his back?

    Pics would be nice.

It fits into the same slots it fits into while in car mode. It doesnt sit in there very securely on my figure but it can fit there if the figure isnt moved.
