I absolutely love the tech drawings! Your design skills are great, and the creativity really shows up in a lot of them, not to mention personality.

Your ability to copy photos is pretty well too, however, quite frankly, you're limiting yourself. Don't try and get as close to a photo as possible, cause then you might as well just use the photo. Take the photo and run with it, contrast it up, emphasis areas more.

Your transformer designs for the most part are too generic. The style seems wholely emulated, and that's a shame, seeing as how much personality all your other work has. A good example would be Josh here, who CAN draw much like dreamwave, but has his own, quirky style which some people love.

Developing your own style, which is new and different and a better expression of yourself than others, I feel, is one of the most aspects of developing yourself as an artist. Keep up the good work though, I know if you combine your talents you'll create some even MORE impressive drawings.

    Thankyou for your frank critisism.

I admit, I suck at drawing transformers. The few examples you see are the only ones I have ever done. I have more of a feel for organic type shapes. The tech drawing is my favorite stuff to work on. I have hundreds of pages of them. Some as big as posters that took me months to work on. I feel that is where my talent and passion really lie. I also love to paint, and as yopu can see, I encorporated that into a few of my tech drawings and I think that makes for some of my best work.
As far as the photo's go, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I wish I had my scanner working dammit! A lot of detail is lost. The pencil drawing part is ok, but I try to add a bit of my own character to it, by using paint. The highlights in both of these are done in paint. More over they were more of exercises in shading and highlights, as well as trying to capture an image.
I does give them a the feel of a painting as much as it could be called pencilwork.

Like I said before, I think my talent and pasion lie in the tech work. One of the reasons I love to do it, is that when people look at it , everyone sees something different. Its not just a bunch of fruit in a bowl. Know what I mean?

    Again thankyou.
