I don't know if it's been mentioned already (so forgive me if this is a "duh" post) but didn't one of the earliest photos in Chicago show the Mad Max hood ornament was indeed covered in blue? Perhaps because it would later be CGIed to morph from a bulldog into a dog with Decepticon head (like in ROTF)?

Almost like Megatron will be "disguising" his allegiance (or robot-ness completely) during the movie until the very end (which is said to take place in Chicago, where the "blue screen" hood ornament was pictured)?

So, that's my guess: Megatron is going to hide every Decepticon reference on the outside up until his big reveal in the climax when he proceeds to do his bad guy stuff and shows everyone who he really is. And that's when we'll see his hood ornament actually "transform" into the Deceptidog; hence the need to blue screen the Bulldog in Chicago.

yeah, kinda doubt that. the whole covering of the hood ornament in Chicago was Misinformation i bet. i've read a lot of interesting theories about how it could be Megatron or not be Megatron so it could really go either way, but personally it just makes no sense in the films from what they've already established with this version of Megatron & if the whole Megatron Rumor turns out to be true they better have a very good explanation for doing such.

what's interesting from all the pics i've seen from various times during the filming of TF3 - the spikes are progressive/regressive(basically they emerge more or retract more from the front of the Semi-Truck & the Fuel Tanker through out the film it seems)

 

ALL of my speculation is based on IF this is indeed Megatron. Ultimately, it wouldn't matter if Megatron being a Tanker Truck "makes no sense." Because IF this is Megatron then my theory is VERY plausable. You can argue with Bay all you want if it's bad storytelling to suddenly have Megatron turn Mad Max. I'm just guesstimating the possibilities based on this threads rumor.

Mack did make more than one truck. Would be easier to simply get a truck that can pull a trailer than take the cab off of a cement truck, keep in mind all of the controls, and put it on the chassis of a different truck.
