There's no leadership at all in terms of players on the team. None. Coaching is to blame but the players have to be accountable too and so far absolutely NO ONE on the Niners are stepping up to lead on the offensive side of the ball. No veteran leadership at all which is why I believe the first step in the direction is bringing in a vet QB. They say Alex Smith is their man but so far the guy has taken absolutely ownership of the offense. ***EDIT*** OH. MY. GOD. Alex Smith. How bad can you GET?
F&*KING SMITH!!! I say bench his sorry ass for the remainer of the season. I can't stand that guy anymore he has to go. Pronto!
Put in Carr! The 49ers have lost the crowd. EDIT: The We want Carr chants start and SMITH IS BENCHED!
Ok so Smith redeemed himself somewhat with that masterful drive, but I stand by my belief that he's not the QB that'll lead Niners to victory and Sing should bench him sooner rather than later. If he can play like he just did rest of the game then he earns himself another week as starting QB, but only if he doesn't make anymore stupid mistakes.
Indeed. Bad drive given up by the Niners' D. EDIT: Smith has been playing with heart over the last 2 drives.
