We see a good number of Menasors around here, but I can honestly say that this is one of my favorites! Low kibble and very, very cool looking! Great job!
while I don't like the Motormaster Personally, the rest look really good, and what prompted me to comment is the fact that like G1, you used no outside pieces to connect the individual bots to him. I don't like all the combiners who have to use Unicron parts or that look like 4 alt mode bots attached to the main bot using a skeleton, G1 combiners were alt modes directly attached to a modified main bot (except in Dev's case 6 vehicles). To me a good combiner uses nothing more than modified attach points, and added hands and feet, and that you really pulled off greatly, I love how Menasor looks combined, looks like the real (toon) thing...great job! one day I will attempt a combiner, possibly Superion, since I already made Air Raid a while back, but my other favorite combiner is Bruticus, so we'll see.
Man. Came back to look at this guy again today, and I gotta say, THIS may just be the best custom gestalt on TFW! Not 100% sold on the Motormaster alt mode, but he looks SOOOO damn good in Menasor mode, its forgiving. Still love Extinction, but WHOA this Menasor is SICK!
Man the fact that this uses less parts forming than the original rather than more, and that the bots actually transform to body parts AND make great bots and cars, is amazing. It just looks great. I am wondering just what parts come off when not combined but I haven't read all of the response posts yet. Man honestly the one thing that keeps it from being possibly the best Menasor I've seen is the choice of not making the Lamborghini Brakedown.
99% agree... but If my guess is right the current arms mold used are chose just because this was possible with those and not with the current leg molds for example my first test combiner I wanted the current leg as arms, but they better suited or where easier for legs and thus the current arms weren't good legs
I have to agree with this. It's so incredibly clever and well done, and it really shows a lot of talent. Extinction was cool too, but that was the worst offender yet of extra parts usage. A shame, because other then that it kicked ass.
It looks like the shoulder connectors are from the FP Bruticus kit. Do they attach to the cars as guns?
Definitely an excellent job done on the combiner aspect of it. To make it truly perfect, I think you need to take a gander at how Crossfire Bruticus integrates its parts in Onslaught's vehicle mode and use that as a template to build a better trailer for Motormaster. For instance, set the feet up the same as Bruticus so that they plug into the combiner ports, but instead of a flatbed, they make up the bottom half of the box trailer. Then you can integrate the hands and other pieces into the top half and maybe get creative and make the top of the box trailer a shield for Menasor to hold. But yeah, making those tweaks would easily send this custom from a 9.5 it's currently at to a perfect 10.
What i can say is the best thing for me with this piece is that Menasor's forearms are Dragstrip's & Deadend's legs & not addon pieces! awesome! if i may suggest extending dragstrip's front & adding another pair of wheels for more G! goodness!
*SOB...* THIS is what I wanted out of the advancement of toy combiner tech... not "automorphing" drone limbs...
