on average per month on TF toys? I just happened to be browsing the thread about splurging when you're over 30 and saw some folks tend to spend quite a bit of money...so I thought it would be interesting to know...
Too much. But I console myself with the fact that I'm 10 pieces away from completing my Japanese G1 collection. Then it will just be keeping up with the more recent stuff...
i haven't spent much on TFs for the past year until recently, reason being there are so many great stuff out in the past month or so.
I don't really spend a definite amount per month. Some months I don't buy anything, some months maybe upwards for $100 worth of figures, I've had months where I've spent up to and over $300 in a month, then there was my Tax Return in March where I dropped $500 on Henkei Seekers plus a couple others. Pretty much whatever I happen to have after taking care of everything else, I go and spend.
Just about around $20, give or take a few bucks. And even then that's not every month. Not really a whole lot of spending cash to throw around right now.
It depends. If I know I'm going to be bringing in some funds by selling stuff on eBay/boards then it could be several hundred. If not, it could be anywhere up to one hundred. Also depends on what's out there to buy. Some months there is a total dearth of stuff online and at retail, and then suddently they all come along at once!
I think I average around $50 a month. It's a drop in the bucket. And an extra $125 on top of that if it's a month that a MP toy comes out.
Depends on what's out that month, I operate on a $30 per month cumulative budget so some months I'll spendtwice that & others barely half.
dont have a a set budget, and dont get them every month. When I can afford something I want ill get it, and sometimes Im in a store not planning to buy anything and I come home with a €100 worth of stuff.
^ Yeah, I too spend a 'small fortune' on TF toys too! But in my case, sometimes my parents threaten to disown me! :
The problem is "telling myself its ok". I realized I always tell myself "just a few more to finish up this line", and near the end of finishing "this line" I started to buy 1-2 great figures from "another line", causing me to want more and the process continues. For example, for me, I started finishing up my RiD line, and then while finishing that I looked into A/E/C. While finishing up A/E/C I started to look into PCC and generations While looking at PCC generations, I started looking into ROTF and HTFD (lines that I said to myself that I won't collect) And while looking at ROTF and HTFD, I looked for Fansprojects And now, looking at Fansprojects, I Am looking at Busou Shinki
It's a freaking cycle! 20th Prime -> Alt Smokescreen -> every OTHER Alternator I wanted -> MP Starscream -> Classics -> New MPs -> Bayformers -> Generations...and every single time I think, well, nothing else is coming out that interests me, they finally throw Jazz and Tracks at us!
Not much lately. I don't have a set budget. I collect G1 and Classics, so unless anything new comes out, I don't buy anything. Just recently bought MP Grimlock and Universe Thrust, so that's about $80. Bought a TFC Stepper to replace the gimped TRU Ricochet, so that's about $40. Probably averaged throughout the year, less than $100 a month I would guess.
In my first month of collecting ive come close to if not just hit a grand through online buys and preorders. After that id imagine between £10-£100 on the regular lines and then more here and there for masterpieces and 3rd party products
