I think Mom is more suited for the Liefeld cake job.

@Elita_One: You'd rather have firehawc's mom finish the cake, and then a kid gets the cake and sees it's horrible? I think customers telling it sucks would be alot worse than a son telling his mother it's a bit messed and helping her out. 

I doubt we ever get to order a cake from her so I don't see the problem in sharing this story online (plus he said she makes great cakes when it doesn't come to using characters).

He's somewhat saving her face and doing something fun together in the process.

 

I asked her last night if I was stepping on her toes by doing this. She said no, not at all. She'll take any help she can get. She just wants it to look good! I'm not bashing her or embarrassing her. It's not like anyone here knows her, or that she posts on or reads these boards.

She does do great cakes otherwise. Here's a sample of an anniversary cake she's done:
