So, right now $75 is the starting point. And since BBTS (as much as I love 'em) always tend to markup stuff heavily, it will, most likely, be less from the other usual sources. Told you $200 was crazy talk. :)

Probably won't be TOO horrible. Unfortunately, unless Hyper Hobby chooses to announce the pricing prior to releasing the magazine, there's no way for us to know (and therefore no way for me to price it properly for sale). I really hate to list it on a guess at the price, I'd much rather price it accurately from the start.

Is this figure still coming out or has it been canceled?

A Voyager Thundercracker never had plans of being released in Japan. No Animated figures have been canceled there.

As a test for doing this sort of thing, I ordered this way back when from a Japanese shop, tokuma-ec.com, to ship through a 3rd party shipper to the USA. Just got the following e-mail this morning from them:

    Which Google translates as:
If all goes well, the cost should work out to about 1/2 of what BBTS is asking. Fingers crossed :)
I read no Japanese so this was kind of fun to order using the cool tools available on the intertubes.

The shipping and commission charges are not listed in that email. Once they are added I suspect the cost will be significantly closer to BBTS preorder price.

Landed at Tenso and is on its way. After all is said and done, I have paid a total of about ¥5,000. That puts me about $15 under BBTS. This probably isn't quite worth it since BBTS's customer service is top notch.

I'm not sure about any extra shipping or commission charges. I paid for this way back in November, ¥3,000. As I said, this is an experiment so I fully expect anything to happen :)

"Burakkurodimasu" made me laugh. I so love how Google translator does that. So phonetically spelled in a Japanese accent!
