I got a Leadership magazine that increases the skill of all survivors in your party. It's been a big help.
yeah i got that pretty early on, might explain why they were so good at shooting and there were no panic attacks... i have a feeling i used the same magazine in dr1.
I can't stop playing this game (except now I have to cause I have to go to work). I love all the improvements made over the first Dead Rising (which had few flaws, but it's biggest fault was terrible A.I, such as getting stuck on the geometry, running in the wrong directions, etc.) Dead Rising 2 makes it SO much more manageable now that the NPC's are decently competent now (granted there are still some characters that have issues, like refusing to actually shoot from guns that you give them, but that usually doesn't become much of an issue. The only survivors I cannot stand are Snowflake and the three gamblers in the Atlantica casino. Snowflake because zombies will almost always interrupt her when she is eating a steak you throw at her and it becomes tricky keeping the zombies off her without hitting her yourself and the gamblers because you have to play a game of poker with them (and win) before they will join you...I don't know how to play poker. so right now I'm debating whether to just ignore them or not
What're the bosses like in this game? I loved each of their insane personalities in 1. I'm thinking of renting this tonight.
Has anyone found a source for respawning machine guns? The ones from the vault robbery and the Zombrex stash in the eastern casino don't seem to come back.
the bosses are psychopaths, like in the first game. It always makes me feel kinda bad killing them. Like in the first game, they were normal people who just could not cope with the zombie outbreak and everyone around them dying. In Dead Rising 1, I found Adam the Clown to be the most depressing, because he was a normal entertainer that just snapped when he saw his beloved audience die around him.
Awesome. Loved it in 1. The clown freaked me out.. because I am terrified of clowns. The big cop woman did too.
yeah she is pretty creepy. It's heavily implied that the cop molested the female survivors she had captive...with her nightstick. So yeah, I felt no grief taking her down. But like, Adam, and...the guy in the grocery store make me feel bad , especially his line ," My store....my...store...who will look after my store when I'm gone?" Poor guy...He was just a dedicated employee who's mind was too fragile to handle such a traumatic experience
For sure, the Magicians and Randy the Virgin are the most effed up psychos in the game. Spoiler The way Randy just chainsaws his dad in his cinematic is hilarious. The ones I felt worst about would have been Spoiler Slappy, Sgt Boykin and Ted. I felt really sorry for Ted in particular.
Found the combo card for the lightsaber by looking at a poster in the cinema and the looters are respawning now, so i'm sorted for those now. Anyone got the Immolator card? Still doing pretty well with survivors, only leaving behind ones that have rediculous demands now (changing clothes? bitch please). Can't be bothered to get in a shooting match with the rednecks ATM, might have a go at them later if I run out of other stuff to do. Smang, what case number was the boss that stopped you at level 25? I'm still going with the story and have just reached that level after 5-2.
I'm at level 18 or so, and it took me about 5 tries to beat Spoiler the sexy ass twins. "Takes a bigger man than you to get me on my knees." HA! I finally beat them after finding the LMG. Made life so much easier.
^ that's where I said, ok, time to restart for more levels. Is there some system to learning from the posters? I've seen some (such as a Van Toolsing) that don't let me examine, and I knwo I don't already have that card. Can you only learn form one specific poster, or do you have to have a certain level to gain them? (I ruled out having the scratch card, as I for Holy Arms just fine)
It's gotta be a specific poster. Eg for the light sword, the posters at the back of the Movie Theatre on the Platinum Strip.
I machine gunned those bitches first time and carried on, althougth I wish I had done it with shotguns and more health stuff now I know that the 2 MGs i've found don't respawn. The lightsaber is the only combo card i've found out and about, not sure if there are any restrictions on them or whatever. I just got the Defiler card (which is what I meant earlier rather then immolator, was thinking 40k vehicles) for hitting level 29. I think I found the easist mass survivor haul in the game. Wait until you've got the calls about laugthing dudes at the strip and the stage show in the casino opposite, shortcut across to Palisades mall and do both on the way back to the safehouse. 6 folks with relatively little babysitting. You could make it up to 7 with the armed guy in Palisades just before that as well, althougth i'd already done him at the same time as the mermaid. Doing both to make it up to 8 would be possible, but it'll probably take longer then 2 runs because there would be two folks that need carrying. Would 2 runs of 4 get more PP then 2/6 or 1/7?
Almost at the end of the story now. The Spoiler military dude in the tunnels was shockingly easy to beat, easier then most of the psycopaths. Just going to find out where the gas is coming from and get tooled up for The Facts. I also twigged that Machine Guns only spawn if you don't already have one.
Yeah, I got to MAJOR SPOILER Spoiler Sullivan on the rooftop. Jesus Christ he is hard. I'm at level 30 and I'll try a few more times before I make up my mind if I can do it or not. I rescued some military dudes in the park but had to drop my LMG to do so, which really sucks now. But if what Yak says is true, maybe I can procure one on the way to fight him again. I also never Spoiler gave TK Zombrex as I only had enough to give Katie her final dose. I assume this is going to prevent me from getting the best ending.
