Mario Kart for 3DS! Whoo! Let's just hope it doesn't suck like Mario Kart Wii did. But that's just me.
That price really is making my wallet hurt. But it probably won't be the exact exchange rate from the Japanese price. Stuff is usually cheaper in the US after all. I'm betting on $250. That's still as much as a Wii but with a trade in it should work out to a not too painful price point. Still OUCH. Yeah I'm buying it for Megaman Legends 3 if nothing else.
My interest is piqued but I'm not sure about the price - I think I'd need to try one in-hand to see if the 3D makes it worthwhile.
$300 is the current exchange for 25000 yen. It's NOT the confirmed US price. The DSi XL was 20000 yen in Japan when it launched but only $189 in the US. It might help to take a look at the competition too. An 8GB iPod Touch retails for about 25000 yen in Japan, same price point as the 3DS. In the US, they sell for $229. I expect the 3DS will be around the same.
color me surprised. I was SURE they were gonna try to get it out like, November or early December. Christmas rush, you know. Considering it's a $300 item, I don't think it's going to have outstanding sales during it's initial release, because, much like Transformers, the majority of the people buying these will be parents, for their children. And a $300 system is the kind of thing that parents say " ask for it for your birthday" or "ask for it for christmas" Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it will still do well, I intend to buy one myself, but I guarantee the numbers will not be as impressive as they would be if released in November. People just do not have as flexible spending budgets nowadays. In Japan however, I'm sure it's sales will be through the roof, because video games and toys are just much more accepted among adults there. In America, we're pretty close to that, in terms of video games, but there's a large difference. In Japan, it's perfectly acceptable for adult gamers to still be into Pokemon and what have you, but most adult gamers in America usually stick with adult games, like Dead Rising 2, halo, Resistance, or sport games like...Madden 200,000 or whatever number they're on now
I was a bit taken aback by the price, but I will get around to it, I think. The game lineup seems mighty impressive, though!
$300 = pass. $200 seems more reasonable. I imagine it'll probably be $229. That might be low enough for me, but I dunno. 15% off at target helps.
Totally getting this. I love my DSLite, passed on the DSi and XL... this is the upgrade I've been looking for
Sooo anyone else hear that the 3DS will supposedly be available for pre order in the States on the 26th of Dec? More information on this supposedly coming out the 16th.
This is one place where price is not an issue. I will own this baby. I do hope that zelda 1 in 3d comes out to the public.
