They deleted the scene where he picks up a hot little Protoform at Macaddam's.

I like this!! I think that a lot of the peeps that don't get 2010/season 3 never really saw this about Rodimus Prime. I don't think that peeps were ready for a leader with depth and flaws. Heck when I was little I wasn't, I wanted Optimus back. These days as Optimus is used in every incarnation of the series and Hot Rod is bumped down to 2-dimensional, hot-headed background character, I definitely miss Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Springer, Magnus, and all of the characters that brought depth to the series that I never quite understood when I was a young-un.

It's kind of funny that while I loved Hot Rod after the movie, I became disenchanted with Rodimus in season three. There's a lot of making fun of him, especially with all the emo comments, but when I rewatched the series in college, I saw him as the most relatable character of the bunch at times. He was the kid who everyone thought of as an adult and eventually he became the adult everyone else saw him as. Even though it was the short time frame, his character was a good growing up character type.

I know they were bowing to demand, but bringing back Optimus was IMHO, the biggest mistake they made. Even the comics in which he was described by the writers as the Greatest Prime he was barely in the series. Rodimus is truly one of the characters who got the shaft.

Anyway, MP Rodimus looks great, glad I locked in my BBTS pre-order.

I totally agree with you Pravus Prime.....as a 15 yr old when the movie came out I was soooo against Optimus Prime being killed off!! I remember sitting in the theatre with all those little kids crying and thinking to myself "Well there goes one of my heroes in the scrap pile!" But by the end of the movie I was all for this new brash, unproven Rodimus Prime and where the show would go from there. How would he handle Galvatron, who had Megatrons memory and expierence?? Would Ultra Magnus and Kup try to make sure he did not make too many mistakes or just go out and say "Let's do this!" without having a plan?? How would he handle not just jumping into any situation but sit back and see the big picture?? They tried to do this with Season 3 but not enough in my opinion and too many people did not see the movie and then Season 3 starts and there are all these new bots and its 2006!!! Most people probably said WTF and turned the show off!!

Anyway enough of a rant from my old ass here.......lets just say that I have not bought a MP figure yet but that may change with the release of this one and just maybe this figure can do this for me....."NOWWW.....LIGHT OUR DARKEST HOUR!!!!"

Lonestar as a Targetmaster, and Barf as a Headmaster, right? LOL! I was thinking the same thing when he said "space winnebego". :D

Yeah Rodimus Prime definitely got the shaft. I'm glad there were as many episodes as there were with him, but I definitely would like to have him back again. Though that will never happen (and it wouldn't be the same any way as it would be a new series).

I think Rodimus would have been better recived if Hot Rod had been in the earlier seasons, so we could have gotten some build and development beforehand. Also everyone would have cared about him more by the time the movie rolled around and he got the matrix.

Interesting what they were trying to symbolize with the Campervan, but too bad no one told the designers that in the States Campervan means boring and lame like your parents and grandparents, not the heroic leader. Something like a pick up or other truck would have worked better.

I was 8 when the original movi came out, I didnt like Prime dying but I loved the character and design of Hotrod/Rodimus Prime, it as a move more towards convincing robots that transformed into there disguse rather than the other way around. Rodimus (and Kup, Arcee, blurr and Springer) looked like a robot fira a car second. Sure he was a bit of a chum but I idenified with that ;)
