Didn't see a thread for the new Castlevania : Lords of Shadow game for PS3 and Xbox 360. A new extended trailer was released last week. A little extra footage from the one shown at this year's E3. Any other Castlevania fans besides myself looking forward to this game next year! Hell yes. I may have to get a 360 just for this game. At last a Castlevania game that looks as dark and gritty as it should. Additionally I've heard that Igarashi has been fired as the head producer of the Castlevania series and replaced with Kojima. If so, then this game could very well be CV's redemption as a mainline feature for Konami.
I can't get all that excited, I mean, I LOVE 2D Castlevanias- but I've not liked a single 3D version yet.
I'm looking forward to the game, and will buy it. I still have hope that one of these new 3D CastleVania games will live up to the greatness of CastleVania: SotN and CastleVania III. CastleVania 64 wasn't very good, Lament of Innocence was better and Curse of Darkness was another step in the right direction. So I have high hopes for Lords of Shadow.
While I think Symphony of the Night is by far the best Castlevania, I actually liked all the 3D Castlevanias. Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness may have had some boring level designs and cheesy voice acting, but the gameplay was decent and the soundtracks were pure castlevania. This new one looks sharp, and I hope we get another great soundtrack and some depth to the battle system like Symphony of the Night or Curse of Darkness and not just straight up action.
I'm looking forward to this. The Castelvanias on the nds were all great, but I wanna see what they'd look like in 3D.Does anyone know what has become of the OTHER Castlevania game?Which they said was a sequel to SotN?
With IGA not doing this game and it's back to the original style art instead of the trashy anime art as seen in the DS games, I'm really looking forwards to this one.
I'm going to play the wait and see with this game I loved Castlevania games growing up but lately the games are lacking.
Robert Carlyle, Jason Isaacs and Natascha McElhone doing the voicework doesen't bode well for dialogue hilarity. Still, i'll let them off for good dialogue if it has the giant zombie ball boss.
I'd go for the PS3 version. This may be PS3-fanboyism talkin' in complete: "Never admit that I'm in denial, will take this to grave or light myself on fire, regardless, see ya tomorrow!" Though 360 has some amazing games I wish were on PS3. Like, have you heard 'bout that there Halo Reach? Some awful purty stuff that remind me of your possibly purty mouth up on that Halo Reach. So, I guess I'm not a complete PS3-fanboy/goat cuz I respect the 360 and some of it's offerings. Also cuz I eat chippies, cannot forget about that.
Might pick it up, but there's plenty of other games to look forward to in October so this will have to wait.
