How the hell did these come to a surplus/clearance store when they haven't even hit mass market retail? LOL I checked my local TJ Maxx and found nothing but 25th anniversary G.I. Joe's and Star Wars Transformers crossovers.
With big box retailers completing their fall toy resets, retailers didn't want the red packaging causing brand confusion. Therefore, the red packaged HA got shipped to outlets.
I think what ended up happening, is that the last assortments of HA, which had Mudflap, were ordered by retailers and could have gone on shelf but the stock that was on shelves wasn't cleared/sold, so when Hasbro started to ship the new assortments with orange box, the retailers just liquidated their stock sitting in the distribution centers(which never made it to retail), to discount retailers. I think the same thing happened with Indiana Jones figures, like the 2nd wave or so. Plenty on shelf, newer waves ordered, but since the wave 1 figures weren't really moving, a limited amount of later waves made it to the big retailers, with most of the later waves ending up at discount retailers.

Yeah, the Ollie's next door to the TJMaxx I got Mudflap at had a ton of the Indiana Jones figures from the later waves last year.
That's normally what happens but it doesn't explain Hasbro's strategy of not putting these up for sale on HTS. Or the animated voyagers. I've seen everything from the 1st wave Optimus with no symbol to the last wave Wreck-gar. I never found a Mudflap but I did score a Sinestro/Parrallax/John Stewart for $6 and I didn't even know these came out yet let alone were "last season".
I've come across some TJ Maxxes that have Lugnut and Wreckgar, but no Mudflap. Has anyone know of these stores getting a second shipment in WITH some Mudflaps? or was this a one-time thing?
i managed to find 6 HAMF at 3 different TJMAXX. 2 at each location, and no im not scalping, they have all gone to members here. have not had a chance to go back and check if more came in, but willing to bet it was a one time deal.
I didn't find HA Mudflap, but I managed to get Animated Wreckgar, Blitzwing, Shockwave, Thundercracker and Lugnut! Thanks for the heads up everyone!
Anyone seen any SKELEFLEX toys at their TJ Maxx or Marshalls stores? They used to recently have them at my stores, I think I may have bought all the ones in my area. I only need 4 more sets (Triceratops, Skorflex, Quadmo, Skullkor) to have the entire toy line. Help me complete it!
Been to two here in my area. Plenty of animated voyager love, but no Human alliance. Not tf-related, but I did score the "new" Star trek USS enterprise for 12.99 there. (been waiting forever for somebody to drop it to a decent price)
Only HA figure I ever saw when hunting was Sideswipe. I had kinda decided that if I DID find a Bumblebee I'd pick one up (not much interest, but for $20, AND it's the HA type, I'd spring for it). No luck with him or Mudflap, though.
