OK, so I have this rule in my collection see, no more than one version of a character per size class. Unfortunately, every Bumblebee Hasbro release is better than the last, which means I have to buy it. I HAVE TO BUY IT GODS DAMN YOU HASBRO!!! Ahem, so what this means is that to keep these molds on my shelf, they have to become somebody else, time to reach for the paint brush, and start at the beginning with the 1974 Chevy Camaro mould... Painted with Krylon Fusion white undercoat, Humbrol enamels and Games Workshop Blood Red, I give you... ...an unmitigated disaster. Everything broke as I was taking it apart, the Krylon refused to stick properly even after washing and wet sanding everything, I remembered why I hate Humbrol enamels, and why when I was collecting Citadel Miniatures I used to spray all the big vehicles. So, one quick trip to eBay to pick up another Bumblebee, another trip to the model shop to grab some more paints, and I now present... ...Cliffjumper! Vehicle parts painted with Pactra racing finish spray. All robot parts and details painted with Citadel paints, just your basic base coat, wash, drybrush and highlight. Autobot symbol and Camaro legend courtesy of Reprolabels. The racing stripes are done with RC car trim lines. Very, very good. Much better then masking and spraying. BFG supplied by Swind... er, Munitioner. And finally, I can now reveal the real reason why Mikaela Baines is not in TF3... She called Cliff 'A piece of crap Camaro' as well. Bad move, sister, bad move.
My eyes feel dirty from looking at that first pic. Great job on the second one, massive improvement. Hakka.
thats So Raven Bro, Im diging that. all the little details are fly man. that even looks better than the concept Redeco. Nice 1st custom bro.
oh wow great job. I had to say the first pic was like that could not be possible be the custom u made.. great job!
Like the others, I saw the first pic and I was like WTF!?! Then I scrolled down and saw the beauty that is your piece of work. That is some very nice painting and the head looks badass! Is it a modded head or what because it definitely looks more menacing than BB. Great job!
I love it, I hope Hasbro reuses the classic Camaro mold someday. It might just be me, but I like how there's blue on his thighs, sort of connecting with the allspark blue the concept Camaro Cliffjumper has.
I'm loving the addition of purple - it looks nice with the red! I think his eyes could benefit from getting some simple spots of colour (blue, I guess since he's an autobot) instead of being completely black, though.
He he thanks. The first one went so horribly wrong I thought I'd have a little fun with it Thanks, I wasn't going to use this mould for Cliff, and then I saw Hurley driving a classic Camaro with this deco in Lost and I was sold. I think the black edging to the stripes really makes them pop. Cheers dude. For a relatively simple mould there's so much brilliant moulded detail just begging to be brought out He he, thanks man, couldn't resist having a bit of fun Thanks dude, appreciated. The head's not modded, it's just the head from the movie 1 Concept Camaro. I think it's just because normally on BB everything under the eyes gets a bit lost in a mass of silver and black, I wanted to bring all those details out which is why I did the cheeks and moustache in red. He probably looks more menacing because you're used to seeing BB with big round startled eyes where-as the ones on this sculpt are more oval. Looks a bit more sinister, which I think fits Cliff better. LOL, thanks, it is a great mould and I'd highly recommend it to anyone starting out. I didn't even think about allspark blue from the original, I just wanted a light colour to break up what would otherwise be a mass of metal and red, and I like blue Thanks man, Games Workshop Liche Purple, I love it, and it's a perfect way of reconciling the red with the blue. The eyes are actually light piping, and still glow beautifully. I don't know why they came out black in the photos. If I get a chance I'll try and get a photo with a light behind his head Thanks man, there's so many little bits and pieces of detail just begging to be brought out on this mould, I actually had to stop myself in the end Cheers fella, it's my first TF, but I collected Warhammer for a while, so it was just a case of remembering what to do really. First time I've picked up a brush in 10 years though, so I'm quite happy with the results. I've seen your stuff though, and it's good. Keep going, practise makes perfect
woah man, superawesome! and nearly perfect! neraly perfect, cause you should do the feet-mod to delete the duckfeet hope to see a lot more from you!
did you spray paint it? gosh it WAAAAY better than my first custom, which im still working on "Battle Blade Cliffjumper"
Yep, Pactra RC spray. Very nice stuff, gives good coverage with only a light coat. Only down side is I'm a bit limited in the range of colours they'll get in over here. Thanks man, appreciated. It's Bumblebees all the way for a little bit, then I've got something big up my sleeve, hopefully, If I can work out how to build the bloody thing...
