^ Dear god in heaven. We've got how many character designs now for this series? The only two that look even vaguely movieverse are Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.

Bumblebee being based on his movie design (and presumably, character...you may have noticed that this version of the character is very popular so Hasbro isn't going to disappear him after the movies are done, this would require carcinogenic levels of stupidity) is literally the first piece of info we had about this show. Nothing new has been confirmed.

I'm not a super-big fan of Mutebee either, but I'm over it. You also can't say he's not expressive, it's just in a less conventional way.

I would've thought the fact that we've known that he looks like that for months would've been enough to confirm it.

And the designs for Ratchet, Arcee, and Starscream pretty much confirm it's NOT movieverse.

And since when is artistic style indicative of the writing?

Debatable until we get concrete links within the actual show.

Hasbro stated at SDCC that PRIME is in WFC continuity.

If it's in anything, it's in Exodus' continuity, which is almost exactly like WFC but a little different here and there.

That said, Hasbro tends to say a lot of things, not all of them become gospel in the long run, and story bibles can change a lot from their initial creation. I'll believe it when I hear and/or see a concrete unquestionable connection to Exodus in the show, which I can't see them doing since most 8-11 year olds won't be actively seeking a novel with very little press outside of fanboy circles. It might even contradict Exodus, but the likely outcome is that it will just make Exodus easily ignorable so as not to alienate the pint-sized target audience.

I would also include Megs as having a movie-inspired design. Personally I think he does the best at it, and is also the least-obvious (Bee coming into second place and Prime... needs some work...).

Like SD said, it's confirmed-by-Hasbro fact, the two are in the same continuity (along with Exodus to boot). However I would argue that how well the two will fit together story-line wise is currently up in the air. We'll just have to wait and see.

Question: If it's supposed to be in the same continuity as War For Cyberton then how come there are kid characters in the show? :inquisiti

So you know this is being written by the same person who wrote the movie. But besides that, my comment made no mention of the writing. I contend that visuals can hold alot of weight when it comes to making something more enjoyable, or less enjoyable. Especially since we're talking about a TV show that relies on them. And for the record this is the first time I've seen Bumblebee's design, and I've only seen Optimus and Megatron's and that wasn't that many weeks ago so all of this is news to me. Forgive me if I don't spend all my time digging for news on Transformers every single day.

How...how would that affect the continuity? WFC is set pre-Earth, and Prime is set well after they've come to Earth and made contact with humans (aka there's a time gap in between the two).

And Bay's not involved at all, so he's not going to interfere the way he did in ROTF. Orci/Kurtzman have gone good work on their non-Bay stuff.

Good point. I didn't think about that because when it was said it was the same continuity as WFC, the instant reactionary thought is also that's supposed to mean the same time period.

I personally don't see it. I mean, the fact that he turns into an "alien jet" is reminiscent of TF1, but that version of Megatron lacked the trademark fusion cannon that this version prominently sports. Even the RotF version of Megatron has a very different take on the fusion cannon.

They had the preview for the ten shows weeks/months ago yes - but the video I was talking about was new to the Hub Site at the time of my previous post.

    and don't forget this line

it means NOTHING other than another UNICRON TRILOGY with Michael Bay-influenced robot designs.

I'm not sure if this will earn Japanese release? but even so it will be Americanized, not following the 25-years long traditions.

    or isn't it?

IMAO i'd like to see Japanese-made TF live action series, OK it may sounds like TOMICA RESCUE FORCE but... let's see how JAPANESE concepts of live actions be, without Bay's influence.

No...no it wasn't. Maybe it wasn't directly linked within the site, but that's how we found out about Batman Beyond's inclusion weeks ago. Or at least, I did on Toon Zone, on a thread posted over a month ago. So, maybe new to TFW, but not completely new.

Ah, here we go: Cheggit. August 14th, over a month ago.

Does anyone find it strange that Hasbro asked Marty Isenberg to be head writer of GI JOE Renegades instead of being head writer of another TF series?

    ^ ...no?

If they want Prime to not be Animated, then it makes little sense to bring on the same head writer and say, "now do it again, but different!" I mean, that's kind of just a hassle for the writer in question.

It's impossible to see their retaining him for another high-profile property as anything but a compliment, if that's what you're asking. Nobody said they had to hire him again at all.
