I just started collecting 3 weeks ago so it not huge by any means. I've ran out of space so it's not displayed properly. Also a lot of the ones I had as a kid are put away for safe keeping.

I just thought you guys might enjoy watching a collection grow. Thats the fun of it isn't it?

So yeah thats it right now, I still have 10-12 items in the mail right now, but I'm leaving for NY Friday morning so I guess I won't get them till December when I come back.

As far as a mission statement...
My collection will focus on mainly G1's and Optimus Prime. I'll be using mostly reissues to recreate a catalog type display from 84' and 85'. One robot mode, one car mode amd ofcourse one MISB. I was poor as a kid so I usually spent more time looking at the catalogs than getting new toys, and now I just feels right to display them like in a catalog haha. I will also stay current with the Alternators (on display) and the Binaltechs (MISB). Oh yeah and WSTF's they're just so cool. As far as the other new ones you'll only see optimus prime versions depending if I like em. Cybertron/Galaxy Force is the only one on my list right now.

After I'm done with that I'll focus on getting AFA sealed 84' 85' toys which will cost and take lots of time looking and saving.

If you read all of that than wow you deffinately don't have add   gj lol.

You've accumulated lots of stuff in 3 weeks. (You did say you just started 3 weeks ago or did I read it the wrong way   )

I like the way you display the Alts. (since that is what I am only collecting at the current moment)

Yeah 3 weeks. There are a lot of stores and warehouses around me so a lot of the stuff I was able to get direct.

As for the bookcase they are the standard ikea variety and the lil cubbies for the WSTF's are inserts meant for CDs. The bookcase isn't very deep however and limits the display options. Do you guys know where to get the glass cases you find at the stores? Or are those overly expensive?

 

WOW. That is a lot in just 3 weeks. That must have set you back a lot of money. Awesome collection. It puts mine to shame.

Yeah I'm a OG G1 guy but for some reason the GF Convoy got me hooked. I'll be getting more once hasbro releases sonic bomber.

 

ACK!!! Galaxy Convoy!!! His wings!!! Wrong way!!! Wrong way!!!

And yes, the Billy bookcase from Ikea is my standard for display cases... And they must come with the glass doors... MUST... 

 

Well he's a Cybertron Optimus Prime and in Hasbro's directions they have the wings upside down I guess haha.

The THS GF Convoy's directions had it the other way. I'll switch it back when I get home haha

 

How much did you get your bookcases for??? I usually try and hit up Ikea when they're doing their Back To School sale... Happens often too since Cal is close by... 

 

Yeah, wrong way wings on the GF Convoy, but I kinda like that look as well. And if you are a Prime collector, might I suggest you pick up an RID Prime or Car Robots Fire Convoy? And you must get an RID Ultra Magnus or CR God Magnus, cause they combine into one of the best Primes ever. And also RID Prime is my favorite Prime figure. Great setup, your inner child must be very proud!  

 

Yeah I will eventually get to the RiD and others like Energon... Maybe haha.

Right now I'm focusing on finishing my WSTF collection. Plus if I get the RiD and etc. those will be left MISB.

 

But you have to open atleast one RID Prime!! He is like sweet sweet music. I have 4 different versions of that mold and I love it! Maybe get the Cybertron versions of RID Prime and Magnus to open and putz with.

 

lol ehh RiD isn't my thing I guess.

I'm all about the 84-85 G1 toys. I just figured I'd get the newer stuff first so I don't have to worry about the prices going up and the difficulties of finding that MINT MINT MINT example.
