    Can she stand well:
    A) Without armor?
    yes
    B) With full armor? yes

    - Is Mao a medium body? Mao is an MMS 1 type body. So is Benio. They are the tallest. MMS type 2 are the same height as MMS 1 but the chest pieces are not removable. Most of the MMS 2 figures are licensed figures like Yoko from Gurren Lagen and the girls from Skygirls. MMS 3 come in two sizes, Tall and Small. MMS 3 tall figures are almost as tall as MMS 1 & 2 but just a smidge smaller. MMS 3 Small figures are shorter than all of the others.

    - What do you mean by "bad engineering"? Benio's armor can be problematic. The waist pieces of her armor can be difficult to tab together. Also her shoulder armor in heavy armored mode (she has a light and an heavy armored mode) doesn't stay tabbed in all of the time. Also the extra weight of the arm armor can cause her arms to fall off. It is nothing terrible if you pose her and leave her alone but if you like to pose your shinkis a lot it gets annoying pretty quick. Her wave mate Xiphos suffers from this too but not as bad as Benio.

    - What hand does she come with (or are all hands standard)? She comes with the standard assortment of hands that Mao & Howling came with. She does include a set of fixed wrists that are armored too.

    - Does she have optionial faces ( Emotion)? She and Xiphos are the first sets to come with an extra head. You can see it by removing the skull mask. She has the same facial expression though. The helmeted head is not removable from the helmet

All in all, Benio is a really good figure but since she is one of the earlier releases, she does have a few problems with some of her armor staying attached. Like I said earlier, if you like to pose your shinkis, keeping her in her light armored mode would be best but if you are just posing her and leaving her on a shelf then she is fine.

Been watching Battle Master videos for some of the upcoming releases. (Many of the upcoming Shinkis have shown up as DLC) Some interesting things I've noted...

Renge's tail'o'knives splits vertically in half, and the hinges deploy the halves to either side of her, revealing a gun battery.

Maryceleste's tentacles fold back and up into 'wings', revealing hidden missile launchers. She also seems to have a rather duplicitous nature. She's all polite and sweet before the match. And then you watch her in a fight and its all growling when she gets hit and laughing like a madmen when she reveals her guns. I think we have our first official crazy girl :D

After watching her in action, she seems more "haughty" then crazy. It's not a sadistic, villainous laugh, but a pompous, arrogant laugh. Kinda like the mean rich girl anime stereo type.

You know that part where she's yelling 'SHEENE' at people when firing her gun?

氏ね 【しね】 (exp) (sl) (vulg) die!

Just a wee bit more then just arrogant there, if you ask me. But then, I WANT a sadistic, evil Shinki. :D

Got me my first Shinki: Eukrante.

She's super. My impressions on the figure compared to Revoltech and Figma style toys? Shinki's are lots of fun and the accessories & parts are really nice. You get a lot of toy for your money. They system for parts manipulation is really cool as well. I find the body styling to be vastly inferior to Figma and Revoltech. They serve different purposes for sure, but the body style on the Shinki steals away a lot of expressiveness.

I'll be picking up a few more when the opportunity arises. Any suggestions on which figures are the best buy for the money?

Glad you like Eukrante. She is a really cool figure. As for suggestions on who to buy next, that really depends on what you like. I would recommend checking out fanmode and looking at the linked galleries of figures there to find ones that interest you.

    Edit: (added more)
One thing to remember, the EX sets (Waffebunny, Tsugaru, Fort Bragg, Waffedolphin, Grapprap, and Schmetterling) do not come with bodies. They were designed to be add on sets to be used with existing Shinki bodies you already have. These were eventually replaced with the light armor figures.

If you want figures with armor similar to Eukrante's then check out her wave mate Ianeira, as well as wave 9 Lancemento and Espadia (aka Beetle girls), and wave 10 Graffias and Vespelio. Wave 10 figures were designed by the same designer who designed Eukrante and Ianeira.

Thanks for the vids, Cat. I can't remember if I've ever seen gameplay of Battle Masters or not, although it certainly looks more like a fight between two armored humanoid robots as opposed to Battle Rondo's turn based system. Too bad the only Shinki i own who's actually in that game is Howling, I would have liked to see Pomock or Partio be in a few fights so I could understand what the heck their actual fighting style is (my current guess is "Hit and Run/Gun" at the moment)

I still eagerly await better pictures of all four of the upcoming releases, though.
