    Ebay:
With the Seacons, BBTS had over 5000 in stock at one point. Selling a bunch at a little over cost to the other stores keeps them from having another Battle Unicorn on their hands. Fortunately, there's still plenty in stock so I can safely wait to buy mine when I get funds in Nov. But with this, I fully expect them to mark them up like they would Botcon exclusives. If it's true, I doubt RK gave them a discount at all, since bbts could theoretically get 2-300 a pop for them. All in theory, of course.

If BBTS did buy out the rest of the Scyther stock from RK, they really did provide their "service" to me since most of my funds were tied up somewhere else so I couldn't get the add-on when it was out. What they technically did here was reserve 1 or 2 for me since them buying out the rest would give me a second chance to purchase it as long as it is not ridiculously overpriced. I would gladly pay the $110-$150 range.

Dude you really need to take a class on Supply and Demand, cause that's what happened. There was a huge demand, and not much supply. Typically when that happens the price is much much higher. I'm still surprised by the price, I thought for sure it would be at least $150 to start considering the demand for it. Now if you came to my town and bought all the apples, I guess I(and many others) would start eating pears, bananas or other fruit(like kiwi, really like kiwi :D  ). the apples or the Shadow Scyther are not something that you NEED, so not worth getting excited about. Bring it down a notch, your going to have a stroke over half a toy that by your own admission you allready ordered.

Oh and count me with the people that think that BBTS won't have any, as i still think Mac&cheese is winding you guys up just to watch you bump into walls. :trolls:  If they do get some and I can find the money in time, then great I'll put one in my Pile, but I ain't holding my breath.

I got to agree with this. there is no way scaplers could be as effective or efficient as they are at getting stuff that we want, unless they are part of the fanbase.

I imagine a lot of people when they see something like this, they buy one or two for them selves, and then buy 2 or 3 to sell on ebay or elsewhere to make up the costs. imagine you had $500, this would have been a great investment(that's exactly what this turned into for some). you buy two for yourself. then you buy 3 more to sell at around $200 in 6 months when the price is going nuts, then you basically got your two half toys for free and made an extra $100.
or you could sell 2 for $300 like the guy on ebay right now and try and trade one for a SG rodimus or Wildrider.

Of course I'm too poor to do something like this, but I can totally see others doing stuff like this when they have the chance.

There is a difference between a fan purchasing the product to have the product and enjoy its inherent value and a scalper purchasing the product solely as a liquid commodity to re-sell for profit.

This is indeed supply and demand. Initially, the supply was 600 pieces at $95. Assuming BBTS rumors are true, there are now 540 pieces at $95 (sold) and 60 pieces (unsold) at some price north of $95.

Demand remained the same, but supply was artificially reduced ( 600 to 540) and the price increased.

Did BBTS buy 60 pieces of Shadow Scyther because they were "fans" and just really wanted 60 pieces to mount on to 60 henkei wildrider/SG Rodimus figures? Did they appreciate the design and engineering?

Is Joel sitting around playing with his 60 Shadow Scythers?

And sure, Shadow Scyther isn't food, you don't NEED it. But you don't need to come post on their board, either, yet you do it. So if you've gone through the trouble to join the board and post here and RESPOND to me, then you sure as hell can stfu instead of telling me to calm down.

Hell no, he's repackaging them and billing people.

But at least you have some sense.

I know what you mean, some tfw'ers buy shit tons of a certain toy, then try like hell to sell them at ungodly price in the junkion, and when that doesnt work, they try and sell on ebay for stupid prices. Its pretty damn funny, and these toys arent even that rare. But hey, who am I to judge. Once you've been here long enough, you begin to see who the sellers are here.

I just want to put my 2 cents in regarding BBTS starting when they had that flat shipping rate. I've dealt with them and have nothing but positive reviews and top notch service. All of my orders are well packaged and protected, items are bubble wrap very well, and shipped fast!

Didn't have to deal with customer service concerning whatever issues and/or problems because well I didnt have to do. Questions promptly answered regarding inquiries.

Sorry for diverting from the topic just had to put my 2 cents in cause.... Now back to topic.

For those of you who knows the scalpers here... I know you can't list at forums, but can you PM me a list? I would like to try to avoid buying from them to give them less business. tbh, I'd rather just buy from fans.

Look, I can't stand here and call 1 person a scalper, but if someone posts some stuff in Junkion for EBAY prices or the infamous "pm offers" then they really aren’t doing anyone favors. If I want EBay, ill go to eBay. If I want a high price, ill sell on eBay. But there are people who buy it so I guess its not really scalping to the person who holds the cash.
If it’s a Dezaras MISB/MIB, I can see that being something worth looking for the best price. 25 year old toys that are still in Mint factory condition are worth the $$$. IMO.
But to each there own, I been know to spend cash on things I want, not need. Ill pay top mother fucking dollar for a good custom 1 of a kind. Or a MIB Black Zarak. Even bought and sold a few Henkei Wildriders and Crystal Convoys.

Talk to the guys that bought Botcon Thurst, or Ehobby Sunstorm at a high and now see them everywhere. I understand Fanprojects is some nice stuff, but to the People who missed out, if you think they wont rerelease this set in Black with chrome or extra weapons your crazy. Fanprojects likes to make money and likes to create hype.

Only 600..tell that to the people who bought the limited TFCON Commander to see the DIA commander month later.

That was a pretty bad deal for everyone that took the time and money to make it to the con, not mention the exclusive wasnt really an exclusive.

Well the thing about this item is that they included those extra bits (chrome pieces assumingly for Wildrider) with the set as a "bonus" but your point is very clear and valid for a couple of the prior releases that they have had.

Actually if BBTS did indeed buy the last 60(still have my doubts on that) then we know that the supply was not artificially reduced, it's still there, just price has been increased. Just like stocks on the stock market. If a stock is doing well, buyers will buy, then sell again once the stock goes up. to these toy retailers, that's what these toys are, investments. Supply was never reduced, just moved, and price was increased, which is what happens to anything that has much more demand then supply. Part of life dude.

    Ebay:
Say your town has one supermarket, Store A. It sells apples. Your town loves apples. There are only so many apples to buy, however, and they sell them for $1 each. Now imagine that store A sells out of apples. There is a store B, 7,000 miles away that also sells apples for $1. Store C opens up, buys all the remaining apples from Store B, transports them to the town and immediately re-sells them for $2.

Anyone who wanted to buy an apple is now estatic. They can't buy apples for $1, because Store A is sold out. The could have paid $0.50 in gas to go to store B but they didn't want to make or risk the drive.

aprim, you DO know that both Powered Commander & D.I.A Commander are the same but NOT the same. (Technically, they've enough differences between both to tell 'em apart) :)

Yeah, to do this time of thing you need a large enough cash base. You also have to have a higher risk tolerance. And there's no guarantee that you'll make a profit. For every hot item that people could flip for loads of cash there's been a fair amount of busts also:

    Powered Commander
    Universe 2 Nemesis Prime
    Botcon 2009 & other sets

That's true...I'm waiting for that "limited" run to come along cause you know it is :lolol

...but to your point, they should have IF they are going to make one for shadow. Hell actually they could have just included the targetmaster with the regular Protector release as well...
