That was my first thought. I'll bet it still on the truck, and Monday morning you'll get it.

I hate when I'm expecting a parcel because it's always pot luck what kind of delivery quality I'll end up with.
Often they'll just shove a 'we tried to deliver and you were out' card through the letterbox and scarper, even though nine times out of ten I was home at the time and if they'd rang the doorbell I'd have heard it (got several ringers all over the house) or the dog would've barked. I'm sure they don't even bother bringing the parcels out with them and just stick the cards through doors as standard so you have to go collect it yourself. I did manage to catch the postie one time just after he'd carded my door and he tried to tell me that once he'd put the card through he wasn't allowed to hand over the parcel and it had to go back to the depot for collection. After me venting at him for a few minutes he admitted he didn't even have the parcel on the van. It's a cost/time/space saving measure.

The place to collect parcels is right along this busy road with slow-moving bumper-to-bumper traffic. It takes forever to get to the depot and then after getting my parcel no bugger will let me back out into the traffic. When I see one of those parcel cards on the doormat it just narks me right off because I know the shitty journey I'm going to have to make to collect my stuff. And then one day after dragging to the depot for a parcel I arrive home to find another one just left on the doorstep for anyone to pinch.

The topper for me though has always been the time they left a parcel under my car. Could've been there three days because I'd been having a week's holiday and the car had been left parked for a while. There wasn't full clearance enough all the way along under the car for the parcel either so if I'd not seen it under there while going from my house to the car before driving off I'd have dragged it all along the road and destroyed it.

My pal used to get his parcels stolen all the time when they got left on his doorstep. In the end he set up a motion-activated camera pointing at his front door and found out the guy across the street was grabbing his parcels when they got left out. Couldn't get most of his deliveries back because they'd been sold on, but the thief did go away for a bit for tampering with mail and had to pay compensation which was something satisfying to my mate at least.

I went to the post office and of course there is nothing they can do about it. The shipping super even said for me to get in contact with the site and have THEM resend it to which I replied one it wasn't their fault. He then said that it was placed in a "safe and secure location and that there has never been a problem in my neighborhood before". I told him #1 I really could care less aboutwhether or not my neighbors where getting their mail I was only conserned about mine and #2 It must not have been that "safe and secure" if it's gone when I get home. He said that since it wasn't insured they couldn't do anything about it. I pointed out that had I receive my box "banged up or broken" then I could see how insurance would be an issue but since this was the fault of the mail carrier it not being insured shouldn't be an issue. I asked to speak with someone higher then him and he was like "Yes you can speak with the post master" so I said ok stepped back to wait for them and he looked back at me and said "Oh she'll be here on tuesday". It took all I had not to jump over that counter.

When I came home and talked to the family next door and they said yes they saw the postman drop it off because they dropped it off now THEIR PORCH NOT MINE!!! The son then came over and dropped it off at the top of my stairs of my apartment. I trust this guy because I just realized that all my packages that have come from the post office have been in fact at the top of my stairs not at the bottom like FED EX or UPS. And Yes most of those packages have been from toy related sites so I know he just didn't read the return address on this one and decide to keep it.

That sucks pretty hardcore. Packages get left on our porch all the time, usually on the side so you can't see it from the road, and we live in a fairly rural area. So it's not really too big of a deal. I'd much rather them do that than when they're too lazy to drive down our driveway and leave a slip in the mailbox. Problem with that is the post office in said rural area closes at 2 every day. I don't get off until 4, and my wife doesn't get off until 5, so we have to get her mother to go pick it up for us whenever she can get around to it.

In Canada have a name for "being a lazy ass and leaving the parcel by your front door". That name is "Safedrop". I get SO pissed when they leave shit at my door! I have called them and said "NEVER leave stuff on my doorstep!" to which they replied "Ok, we can do that for about a week or so. Just long enough for you to tell that to the people who ship your stuff."

WTF! No, it's not my responsibility to tell the vendors to tell the post office not to leave stuff on my doorstep! It's Canada Post's responsibility not to have such an unsafe and LAZY practice, and to even give it a name such as "Safedrop". Argh!

Stuff thats been left on my door:
    Reissue Predaking
A bunch of other expensive things (Can't remember, hah!)
Most Recently, MP Sleep Mode Convoy and MP Ghost Starscream, was sitting on my doorstep for about 6 hours by the time I got home...

It should be illegal for delivery companies to leave packages without the recipients prior consent. The delivery company is paid to deliver to a recipient, not a recipient's address. If you disagree then why do you put your name on top of your address? My front porch is not under my control, even if I legally own it. If it were under my control, I would fence it in with a 10' fence and set 2 attack dogs loose on it so that when someone tries to steal my stuff they end up feeding my dogs. However the city that I live in and most others in this country have ordinances that prevent me from defending my porch. Packages have been stolen from my front porch before even after I have a laminated sign on my door that says "Do not leave packages". I have contacted my local post office, it's manager, my carrier, the local city police, county police, the postal inspector's office and even the state department that oversees the post office. All of them agreed that I am fucked! This needs to be changed. The mail use to be mostly letters and the occasional package of hand knitt socks from grandma. Now we get computers and collectibles worth hundreds. Thieves use to have to sell items to local pawn shops or salvagers for a fraction of their actual cost. Now they can sell them on Ebay for more than they are worth new. These antiquated rules need to be changed on a federal level so that it affects all delivery companies. I like most of my neighbors and I trust most of my neighbors. But all that it takes is one asshole to screw it up for everybody and I have yet to live in a place that doesn't have at least one asshole. Just my two cents.

    'that sucks monkey balls!' -AVGN

one collector guy from youtube came home from work to find his package outside his apartment building (he lives on the upper floor). just there. open for theft or rainfall. he collects Hot Toys so he's pissed at the thought that they just leave $200 items there just like that.

i hope this gets sorted out, dude.

Wait...WHAT NOW? So they received your parcel, but they didn't have room for it, scanned it to the truck, then said they tried to deliver it when they really didn't? Wow.

WTF kinda horse shit...wow...that is definitely a new one.

I would strongly suggest anyone who has had any problems receiving packages, or is just paranoid, to rent a PO box. The smallest ones cost $15 for six months, and size doesn't really matter because the post office will hold larger packages. (In my experience, they usually leave larger packages in unused PO boxes and leave the key for it in my smaller PO box. My post office leaves the PO box area open 24 hours too.) One of the advantages is that you will receive packages technically a day early, as they usually hold them between receiving them at the post office and sending them out for delivery.

One of the downsides is that 3rd party mail carriers don't deliver to PO boxes. The other negative being you have to go to the post office to pick up your box, but at least you can rest assured that it will actually be there.

Pretty much nothing surprises me these days about crappy parcel delivery. I did make a complaint but all I got was a wishy washy answer of 'That's terrible. We'll look into it right away'. Yeah, sure they will.

This exact thing happened to me.

I ordered a wst soundwave and paid way too much for it. I dont live in an apartment. I live in a house...with very BOLD numbers on it to make my address.
My freaking idiot (at the time) post man dropped it off at the wrong address on my street. Not my nieghbors to either side...No No. He dropped it 4 HOUSES DOWN!!!! it had tracking on it, so I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. Luckily the person down the street was honest and brought it to me.
I got my post man fired (or at least removed from my route) I have never seen his dumbass again.
My new post man and I get along very well. He knows to leave any packages in my garage.

I hope this gets worked out for you. This really sucks. The crossfire add-ons are about the coolest thing out right now.

Not to be an ass... but really those delivery guys doing shit like this should be fired.
Simply put: delivering packages is their JOB. It's what they are paid to do professionally.

And quite frankly, if someone can't do what they get paid to do properly, they should be let go.

If it turns out that the post office indeed doesn't have it, call the police and warn eBay. Also, let us suggest to everybody who stocks Fansproject items that they offer disguised delivery. Anybody who charges that much...

In my family's neighborhood, the mail carriers leave any packages too big for the mailbox on the lawn nearby (we have a yard fence). They don't come up to the door anymore, not since we got our second dog. And if the dogs are unsupervised in the yard, no delivery period. The dogs become super-aggressive to the mailman, leaning up on the fence and snapping. I don't blame the mailman for passing us up when that happens. He's not required to risk getting his fingers bit off to deliver our mail. It's bad when they're left in the weather, but we regularly check, so they wouldn't be there long. I usually try and collect the mail in person, in case there's something that must be signed for.

Not sure where everyone lives but in NYC its pretty annoying to see your package left outside. I live in a house and although its a relatively safe neighborhood it just makes no sense.

I have had a variety of things left outside, Tales Of Vesperia LE, Arcade sticks, and a 300+ dollar order from HLJ. The only thing that went missing was the Tales game and Amazon sent another one without issue. After complaining at the post office their response was to hold all my mail at the Post Office for about a week.

Needless to say, any package that is too big to fit in the mailbox I send to my mother's house. It's a hassle but at least I know it won't be left outside.

Wow, that freakin blows. When I finally get back out on my own I'm getting a place with an enclosed front porch.
