Soon to be shelf warming at a retail outlet near you, I bring you TF3 Springer - my interpretation of one of the NASCAR Wreckers trio. Under the hood there's a TFTM Bumblebee with a bit of a leg mod to increase the posability a little. Apply a liberal coating of sculpted detailing and we have a new legends shelf warmer! 9/1/10 - First pics posted - Just need to add the front coil suspension details and the rear spoiler prior to a paint job. 10/15/10 - 1st stage paint 10/19/10 - Decals on and complete
Dude, that is bad-ass. Your attention detail really shows - from the super-charger on the motor to the rockets in the cluster pack. Awesome work! ~Z
This has got to be a new record for a custom. Not only has the third movie not finished filming, but we dont even know who this "wrecker" character really is. Nice job though.
Cheers guys. I just tried to stick closely to the couple of reference photos that have been in the news recently - as closely as the mold would allow anyway. I know what you mean. I hope to get it painted up soon and replace the images with colour shots. I just have a thing about unpainted WIPs hence shooting in B&W; they just feel naked without a lick of paint Yep. As said, it's just an interpretation of what we could end up with coming up to TF3. For all I know Mr. Bay may have decided he is to be called Metroplex (weirder things have happened ), but the green paint scheme and the Wrecker membership says to me, Springer. It could all be part of another big misinformation campaign, but we can dream
Go for it by all means Pics updated for paint apps. I still have a few bits of touching up to do to the enamels, followed by the National Guard & 88 decals, and then a bit of weathering maybe.
I was under the impression these were not wreckers and not Autobots in any form. Apparently they were built by Dempsey's character for the 'cons.
I think I'm done with this now. Decals are applied, taken from the various on-set photos, including the Impala and Mountain Dew logos that can't be more than 1mm high. Now the decals have dried it's time to seal the guy and then it's off to ebay with him.
