This dude is too cool. I love the fact that they went so far as to put detailing on the back of his kneecaps and in the receptacle that his head folds into. Nice touch. Why does it feel like this guy should have an exosuit released later, something like armada overloads trailer but with the articulation of energon superion. I only wish that the yellow paint on the headlights was a little brighter.
He's up in the top 5 for me, he's an incredible little guy, probably my second favorite Cybertron toy.
Love the little guy, got him yesterday, good posability, the gimmick is a little more complicated than it looked, and his had cannon is pretty cool. The only downside is his very short stature, shorter than both undermine and brakedown, making him seem a little tichtchy
Only minor nitpick is no faction symbol on his bot mode. So if he loses his gun does he have a change of heart? Heh.
good reason to not have insignia on his bot: his body flips over during transformation. meaning that if it was on the front anywhere, it would be upside down in different modes. anyways my likes about him: cyber key holder on the gun cool articulation interesting transformation - i never realized where his legs were until I got him. bad things: can't have CKG deployed without the key. literally. in some its just a matter of the gimmick just happens. but with him, for whatever reason when you take his key out, the grill retracts. poor choice can't have his gun pointing backwards in vehicle mode with his key in - no room his heads so small. they could have given him a bigger head based on the space available in its little hatch. so best basic? no. that's still clocker and hardtop.
If they did that, then in a few years the grill wouldn't catch anymore and you would be stuck with a food tray sticking out of his chest and no real alt mode.
i don't think that's true necessarily. if that were the case, optimus's guns on the side wouldn't hold when the key's in, megatron would face similar issues, same with everyone else actually. its just not consistant with the rest of the line. everyone has a flip out gimmick (except landmine I think) so that would be the case for everyone. i'm talking more about the case of "put key in, let grill open. take key out, grill stays open."
Best basic ever? Bullsh*t. I'd take Energon Divebomb or BM Night Viper over this guy without a second thought. He's pretty neat, he's not got any real flaws (save, perhaps, the cheap looking gray plastic), but I wouldn't say he's exceptional either. Honestly, I could believe this guy was designed by the same folks who gave us E-Grimlock and Swoop. He is very basic, simple transformation, and some cheap feeling plastic to boot.
Easily ONE of the best basics ever. (Divebomb? you mean the thing that wouldn't stand up id Jesus himself commanded it, with a head for an ass to boot? No thanks [as always IMO]) Great articulation, bigass gun, great little alt mode, exceptional detailing....At the very least the best basic in the Line thus far. Easy A+
Yeah I'm a big fan of this little dude. I like the fact you can have him keep the cyber key on his gun!
I will be honest, when the proto type first came out i was all like ewwww this one is gona suck ballsz, well Im glad to say i was wrong, and matterafact him poseing him as we speak he is an AWSOME basiche actualy has better articulation than some DELUXs i bought over the years. Im realy glad i saw him last night
Eric's TF Review #1-Cybertron Armorhide My first ever toy review, so be nice, please. ERIC'S REVIEW #1-Cybertron Armorhide First Impression: My first impression when I picked up this guy was damn! This Autobot is small. But then again, so are the other Scout-sized, $6.99 priced Cybertron Transformers. But after playing with him with his gun and Cyber Key (Earth Cyber Key I might add), this little guy is worth it! Vehicle Mode: Cybertron Armorhide's alt. mode is a blue flat-nose truck cab. It gives me the G1 Pipes/G1 Huffer homage nostalgia, which just feels great. It has a trailer hatch-hole thingy that you can put the square stub on Armorhide's gun on. When you put the Cyber Key in, his grill-nose thingy opens up to reveal eight, count 'em, eight red missiles. They don't fire, but use your imagination. I name this gimmick "Armor Missile." Transformation: I'm not really good at explaining how to transform Transformers, but I'll tell you how good his transformation is. It's bonehead simple. It only took me 5 seconds just learning how to transform him. Anyway, easy-as-pie transformation. Robot Mode: Ah, the robot mode of Armorhide. This guy kinda looks a little chubby in bot mode, but the Cyber Key makes up for it. There's little shoulder articulation, but the leg articulation (poseability I think) is insane! Good head articulation and elbo articulation too. Overall: Overall, Cybertron Armorhide has to be my favorite of all the Cybertron scouts released so far. It may not be much, but believe me, this guy is worth the $6.99! I recommend it if you can only afford a small transformer. I give Cybertron Armorhide a 9 out of 10. Just wish he had more shoulder articulation, though. Review done.
Oooooh! Armorhide! Well, thanks for the review. BTW you should do something about the red letters in your Lori's sigs.
OFF-TOPIC: Well the red letters come out perfectly when the sig is in .png format, but when it's in .jpeg format, it can get screwy.
