I find it truly amazing that despite the fact that there are several hundred good reasons to think this will be a less-than-amazing movie (not that I'm not excited for it anyway but, you know, RotF happened), someone always manages to come up with another one that's mind-bogglingly stupid.

What's really strange to me is that he was a Chief Master Sergeant in ROTF, not a Master Sergeant. I would think he would have retired at the rank he was last?

^ Well it's either a gaffe, or he was demoted for being an accessory to the assault of the National Security Advisor.

i find it incredibly annoying that his rank is always wrong... he wore Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) stripes in the last movie... which means he skipped two USAF ranks anyway, but he's always credited as a MSgt. (or a "Master Sgt." I've never seen that rank abbreviated like that outside of in movies.)

    sorry... pet peeve of mine.

Yeah, I'd like to see someone call a "Chief" a Master Sergeant. They would get corrected very quickly. The only proper way to address a CMSgt is either call them Chief or Chief Master Sergeant... never just Master Sergeant.

He never did anything useful in the movies anyway besides shout out random "badass" lines and state the obvious:
"We about to get our asses whooped"

Can we get some new bots leaked now please? :D

I was going to ask the same question, wasn't he dressed as a firefighter while filming in Chicago and the assumption was then that he had retired and joined the CFD.

Yes, believe me...EP is correct. I'd NEVER address a Chief Master Sergent as Master Sgt...it was always "CHIEF"...ALWAYS.

After soooooooooooooo many years involving itself with the US military, one would think Hollywood would know who to ask about proper military insignia and the correct way to address military members.

It burns me when these nitwits can't get such a simple thing right.

*Idea* If Lennox and Epps are globetrotting, getting in Decepticon faces with their badassness, why not pretend they're no longer military, but they're in what amounts to be a mercenary corps?

No idea how secret NEST is now that everyone knows about the Transformers, but just a thought.

    Just ONE word - "Retired."

And some are saying the movie is already sucky, bad, etc..blah blah blah.

Sometimes the fandom surprises me to no end.

Does it matter even he is "retired"?.

Just enjoy the popcorn movie. Suspend reality and leave logic at the entrance. :p
