I think the real reason why most guys are OK with it is because we picture ourselves around that age. At 11 I was already interested in girls and would of jumped at the chance to sleep with an older woman. Who didn't fantasize about nailing some hot 20,30,40 your old women?

    Plus Video games? F yeah!!!

With girls and older men, as someone said earlier, we call that rape because of the manipulation factor. Were those boys manipulated? you could say so but she probably didn't have to push that hard to get them in the H2:lol .

wouldn't take much for me. Shoot! When I was 10, I used to daydream about my friends mom saying.." go ahead, you can touch my butt"

Is that too weird for the boards?

Yeah, I get that, but that double standard pisses me off beyond belief. It's still the same sort of manipulation, and it's a form of manipulation by not only the woman but also by culture. Culture manipulates the idea that it's okay for a 42 year old women to sexually abuse a 13 year old boy when it absolutely is not okay. It's still sexual abuse, no matter the gender. This woman deserves the equal punishment that the 42 year old man gets for sexually abusing a 13 year old girl.

I get where you're coming from 643C and you're right that it's a criminal offense, but most guys would have to admit they've had this fantasy (and obviously several older women too)...and would like very much for it to come true...in this instance.... I believe the boys were more than willing..and it's the parents not the boys (I believe) who are outraged--the boys are just mad they got caught.

How stupid do you have to be to trust a 15 year old boy with a nude photo of yourself? Seriously?

Are victimless crimes punished less harshly than crimes where there is a victim? I would assume so, and I know this isn't what you want to hear, but... It's kind of victimless. Those boys are gonna go home to a heroes welcome by all their friends, blow up a few fist bumps and go right on back to playing Modern Warfare 2. And I know this because I would do the same thing. I don't think this makes me a sick person since it is observably the norm (especially judging from the other responses in this thread). Do I feel slightly ashamed of this? Yeah, I kind of do. But the beast does not deny its nature.

The other point I'd like to make is that I agree society plays a part in making that a normal feeling for me and every other male who has responded to this post. Only in so far as it is the same mechanism that makes women repulsed by the idea and girls who are manipulated by other men in the same manner scarred for life - a societally exacted stigmatism. Until society begins to either drop the idea that the pristine, virginal female is the only acceptable one, or puts the same restrictions on the promiscuity of young boys or men, then there will always be that double standard.

But what does society do but stifle many of our natural impulses? In an attempt to make us transcendant of our animal origins, society does just that. The primal motivations that keep us alive must walk the razor's edge with our responsibilities as members of a civilized society. And as much as anything else, this thread shows we haven't quite got it figured out yet.

Its hard to justify this in any way as appropriate behavior. I too come from a CJ background and see sex offenders/child molesters as scumbags. However you justify this, whether it be our culture, fantasies, etc, its wrong no matter how you flip and spin it. However...... thinking back to those days.... I messed around with older women when I was 15/16. My buddy Ed just got a car and we would drive down to 6 street, throw on a UT shirt and walk the street. Chicks just assumed we were in college:lol  Of course the game was up after they figured out I had no car/money/apartment:lol

There is a double standard because, when it really comes right down to it, boys and girls really can't be judged by the same standards about certain things. While girls mature earlier, boys mature faster. The average guy reaches his sexual peak by their late teens while girls don't reach the same peak until late 20s, early 30s. For boys, there really is no "risk" to fooling around (outside of STDs which are gender neutral) but for girls, the weight of pregnancy and it's repercussions would fall solely on them. So while it might be hard to hear, females carry a much larger burden from sexual activity then males.

There's also the fact that a boys first time is usually less physically traumatic then a girl's first time. For many girls, even if it is consensual, that first time can really hurt. Not so much the case for guys, unless the partner likes it rough. Combined with the fact that men are, on average, more aggressive in terms of sexual activity (yes I know girls can be aggressive too) and it usually leads to the concept that the male wanted it more then the female.

The double standard exists because boys and girls are really two completely different "animals"...so to speak. It's not just a society thing either, it's just hard wired into our instincts, the female body isn't actually ready for sexual activity at a young age (which is why teen pregnancy is such a health risk) while at the same time, once little boys start popping wood...well they're just good to go.

No, there's really no leniency needed here. What she did was wrong plain and simple and she should get the book thrown at her. She did take advantage of those kids and while they might not be horribly, emotionally scarred, there will still be residual issues from this incident that will affect them later in life.

And we always see these cases because it's always bigger news then older guys preying on younger girls. It's not that it happens more now then it did before, it's just that it gets more ratings then the reverse of the situation.

Society nothin. It wasn't society that had me tryin to watch the (barely) blurred porn channels at 12 AM alone in my bedroom when I was 12, if anything Society said I shouldn't be doing that. Guaranteed most boys ended up acting the same way. Sexually speaking, boys and girls mature at different speeds and peak at different times. For boys, it happens faster and finishes quickly, because men are genetically dispositioned to be able to pass on their seed quickly and die earlier. For girls it starts earlier but takes longer, because their bodies have to fully develop so it will be able to handle the stress and shock of pregnancy and childbirth.

Those are genetics, instinctual actions which society was evolved around. When push comes to shove, the vast majority of society's actions can easily be traced to instinctual aspects of the animals we are.
