Hi all first time poster here on TFW2005 but after my call to my local TRU I had to post this.

I have only one TRU near by so I gave my TRU a phone call today after seeing on the site the sightings of MP Grimlock in other TRU around the US.

I get a hold of one of the guys working there and ask very nicely if they had him in stock. First he told me he had not been released in which I told him about how others had already seen him and got him. Checking the listing he said that it was indeed out but they had none in stock..but thing is they never had them in stock and didn't even plan on it. He even checked if they had any orders pending which of course they did not and if that was not bad enough he checked every TRU in the NC state (in which I live) and says none of them are planning to have said Dinobot ;-;

So unless I go to ebay or some store online wont be finding this great Transformer in my home state.

Just thought I share this sad news with my fellow Transformers fans maybe you guys could tell me your search for MP Grimlock at your TRU.

 

If you ask nicely around here I'm sure someone would help a fellow collector out. Grimlock is going to be hard find where I'm going for school, namely because TRU doesn't exist out there. XD

 

I would not necessarily believe the particular employee's claim that no TRU in North Carolina will be stocking Grimlock. That doesn't seem believable.

That said, since you're new you may not be aware, but there are many threads (some on the first page) already discussing Grimlock.

 

Yesterday I went to my local TRU when they were supposed to have come out. They had three in stock at 10 AM when the doors opened. I was 2 hours to late and they were all sold out. They get their shipments every Thursday. I'm planning on being their early next week in hopes to get mine. I don't want to pay ebay prices either. If that happens, I might as well get the Takara version. I suggest going there at 10 AM next Thursday as I'm sure they'll have some by then.
Could be they haven't reached your area yet and I bet next week will be your week. Good luck!

I say it was a case of the employee saying:

"Hold on, let me check."

employee standing there holding the phone daydreaming and staring into space. Picks up the phone and says:

"Nope."

 

LOL! Probably because he had the last one in his hands and wanted to keep it him self!  

 

I used to do that when I worked in retail,so I usually have a hard time believing employees when they said they checked on something.

 

Guess I will try next thursday. Thanks all for your comments guess I beileve the guy a bit too soon. I really want this one as Grimlock is my second fav Transformers and I have seen many reviews for his Masterpiece verison and it just awesome.

why play phone tag with jerks repeatedly and getting stressed out, when you could spend 5 minutes ordering it from TRU.com and knowing you got one?

some things, it may be okay to pick up from the B&M location, but for something special and you really desire, go with the guarantee of success.

have some faith and Grimlock will be yours. peace.

 

Well, I did check online on Toysrus.com and he completely out of stock online x-x

 

They still haven't exactly hit saturation. Don't worry if you can't find him now, he'll be warming shelves for at least 6 months.

 

I hope so. I just hate he a TRU only toy well the US verison at least. I mean then I have a better a chance to find him if he was like any other TF as I have many more Walmarts and Targets and such then Toy R Us.

 

I bet the employee collectors save them to sell on ebay. nuff said!

 

He will be everywhere for the holiday season like Unicron was.

 

Ya, wait, no one hourly employee would have that kind of information, about the not being carried in the whole state, I am sure store or even DM managers have no clue what is going to be in the stores.

This guy lied, he probably is going to scalp them off himself or does't care at all.

You can also get the response that oh we don't order nothin' it just comes in.

He looks mighty nice(Grimlock) not the worker guy), maybe if they do set for a while they will get rid of them like they finally did with Unicron and Supreme Starscream, but for some odd reason they still try to squeeze all their money out of those Darkwinds.

 

Maybe I should just drive down there and see myself I mean would not hurt lol..

 

If he ends up being TRU exclusive ironhide and arcee from animated have patience he will end up being around just maybe not right away.

He also will be very easy to find if hasbro treats him like MP skywarp. Hell there are still some walmarts with clearnaced skywarps shelf warming.

Thankfully parents are not to much competition for a toy like this with his pricetag and no real fancy electronic gimmicks and the fact that Grimlock is more aimed at fans and not kids right not.

that said i can see Battle ops BB selling great to parents with kids cause he has flashing lights and lots of sounds  

 

Check the NC social group. I refuse to believe that every TRU in the state won't carry it. The one in Cary has gotten in huge amounts of every TF exclusive for the last year, including Animated Arcee.

 

I've been told a few times by TRU employees, maybe even a manager or two, that an item wouldn't be coming in according to their computer but after a few weeks or so I would call and they would have it. This is especially true for Target exclusives too. I've even been able to get TRU and Target to hold items for me as the closest TRU to me is 100 miles away and Target is about 70. Sure you will probably get someone that won't look for something but sometimes you do. I guess I've been lucky though as I feel that they have been very honest with me most of the time.

If it isn't that far away it couldn't hurt to go check. Give it some time and keep calling and checking. You will get it eventually if you put some time into it. Don't give up and head over to e-bay. I wouldn't hurt to keep checking ToyRUs.com also as it may come back into stock.
