I've been looking forward to a transformers MMO for a LOOOONG time, unfortunately the cultural & technological differences in the narrow asian market that has been selected makes me shriek and recoil in horror. All we can hope for now is more from High moon (I like the current game) and if..IF somehow we DO get a TFMMORPG, it won't be until 2013 or 2014. By then according to some people we'll all be nuclear ash. Either way it would be a long time before we would get to play a decent MMO based on Transformers. Maybe I should drive up to Rhode Island & take the Head Game position away from the current person in charge & put things on the right track.
yeah I totally wanna try to Pirate this game at least just to try it & see what they did to my beloved Transformers.
FF6 is the best Final Fantasy, it's 7 that's over rated. Course that game has already been remade for PS1 and GBA so we probably don't need another. You also have WoW Cataclysm, Old Republic, Final Fantasy XIV, Guild Wars 2 and DC Universe Online coming out around the same time, too. A lot of Asian mmos like Aion are getting smooshed. I'm not sure if Transformers is a popular enough franchise to carry an mmo. Star Wars, Star Trek and LOTR are as popular as they come, and their MMO outings have been iffy. MMOs are really hard to pull off right, and I just can't imagine there ever being a good Transformers MMO. I'm just glad to have a good smaller scale game like War for Cybertron.
What I would do given the resources is make it an MMO Guild Wars style. Free to play and only MMO in major places but solo "outside". Then build up with expansions increasing the size of the world. Game play would be ripped from War for Cybertron because well it's how a Transformers game SHOULD be. There would be something similar to WoW with both factions available and warring zones where they can be claimed by one faction and grant something beneficial. I would set it on Cybertron and put a huge emphasis on customization. Make a ton of options to allow very unique bots. Even allow the choice of different animations when moving and transforming. I would have a classless lootless system where you buy new abilities as you level up. So yeah, I want this game even if I have to make it myself.
I think its been said before, it would only work if it got picked up by a mmo company that has succeeded before in Western countries. Which limits that to what... 3? I doubt even Square/Enix could make it work. I'd be more in favor of a large action-based game, IE: MAG. Maybe a cross between MAG (huge battles that impact a greater outcome) and SWBF2 (everyone starts off as a grunt, but good gameplay allows you to take control of an icon/legend). Complete with combiners and all that! /pipedream
Yeah, something like MAG would be better. Basically, all I want from a transformers game now is basically War for Cybertron, with maps on earth and cybertron, with a ton of classic characters and customization. Not just repaints with a choice between 5 colors each, but actual customization. They should just do a "Neo G1" Classics\Universe kinda game. If they want to release toys to tie into the game, the molds already exist. The "perfect" Transformers game is WFC, on earth, will all the classics \ universe molds, with a G1 feel, with maybe a few popular non-G1 characters here and there like Lockdown. For those characters that don't lend themselves to gameplay well (Megatron, Soundwave) you can go for some different altmode that have already been used (i.e. Soundwave could be a Scion xB ala Animated). If you have an earth based WFC with a huge deal of customization, characters, maps and DLC, you don't really need a transformers MMO to be honest. Transformers works best as a driving \ FPS game, and those haven't really mixed with MMOs that well, except for maybe planetside.
?????ol???????-????OL-51wan-????-webgame-???? here is the test report for the TF ol,but it is all Chinese if you are good at Chinese, it will surly give you all the information you wanted. totally, it is very exciting
it will be free to play and expect to pay real dollar to get competitive (and usual grinding, gamble stuff from asian mmo)
Warcraft like game? Doesn't say MMO on this one. Maybe a 2nd game in process? Unable to access website though http://www.sowosoft.com/product_bx.html Transformers: God of Metal [Strategy RPG] It says you will be playing as one of the Autobot or Deception commanders. You will have to build your own base and army to "deal" with other players using the rock-paper-scissors method of fighting. By joining a "guild" you will be able to access new technology and make new weapons. You will be able to "chat" with other users in game. You will need IE to play the game online. No installation needed.
OK, I have put it through the translator... Basically, it says there is an adventure map and battlefield map, your heroes have a base where they recruit units, etc... Oh sweet Primus... Tell me they didn't... But everything points to that they took the Heroes of Might and Magic Online engine and re-wrote it to Transformers. Meaning, we will get to fight with say, Dinobots instead of Stronghold troops... Well, I'll see how this plays out, but HOMM Online has so many stupid things I stopped playing it a long time ago, and HOMM was my favourite strategy game, so that is saying much.
I just wish that HASBRO would give us a transformers game that all us transformers fans have been waiting for in th North America. And thats an Updated version of the tataki game that has every single playable transformer in the G1 universe.Which includes combiners like Devastater!!! That is a better playable game and not as repetitive heres a link to see what i mean: YouTube - Transformers Tataki character rollover
Have you even played that game? Or are you saying you want a similar game to Takaki but minus the repetition? Also, I can tell you right now the TF game I've been wanting certainly is not an update of that awful thing.
To answer your first question no i havent played it. To your second question yes, I know that game is god awful but the idea is really cool. Being able to use what ever transformer you want in maybe even an action rpg is something that hasn't been done in North America. I like the idea of being Prediking one day or Galvitron the next. War for Cybertron is an outstanding game. I just wish that the developers would come up with something like this but better in gameplay with no repitition.Oh and also a better story line.
