no offense to jason or ali, but i think if you guys start inviting all these venders, and telling them to bring stuff there going to be pretty piss when they see each other at this meet up, and specialy if nobody buys nothing. Im pretty sure where getting a little ahead of our self on inviting all these venders to come over, there all about making money not really hanging out. Hey what do I know

 

Totally know what you mean BZ and just to clarify with everyone...

This meet-up is meant for all of us to hang-out with one another, put names to faces, geek out over TF's and have a good time.

This is not a convention and there will be no salesmen mentalities.

Please don't expect to see this as an opportunity to cash in unless you beat me in a game of poker... Which is very hard to do!  

But seriously, if you attend... be cool... be yourself... and just hang-out.

 

Just wanted everyone to know that more information in regards to the meet-up, including my contact number and pics of the club room where it will be hosted, is posted in the group thread.

I suggest you check it out from time to time to find out about the latest updates.

The First Los Angeles Meet-Up is around the corner and I wanted to post the information for everyone.

Please be sure to read…

Location: Downtown Long Beach, CA 90802

Date: Sunday, August 15th

Time: 2:00pm to 8:00pm

On the day of the meet-up, please be sure to bring food and drinks to share with everyone along with whatever Transformers you want to sell or trade.

I’m also asking everyone who attends to donate $5 each to help me cover club room fees.

Just so everyone knows, rental for the club room is $100 for 6 to 8 hours with a $200 deposit.

If 19 people show up... Then the room is covered!

If more than 20 people show up... The excess money will be used for more food and drinks.

If less than 19 people show up... I'll cover it.

There will be a Texas Hold Em Poker Game starting at 5:00pm for those interested in playing and we can arrange the Buy In once we have all the players, but expect it to be a minimum of $25 or we can get creative and play for Transformers with the minimum Buy In of a Transformers worth $25 or so… Your call (no pun intended).

Remember, parking is FREE as long as you park in the parking structure listed in the address above, but ONCE AGAIN be sure to park in the public parking spaces designated for restaurants and shops and AVOID parking in reserved guest parking. Although everyone is a guest that day, I don’t have enough parking placards to cover everyone. However, I assure you that your car will be fine just as long as it is parked in the designated public parking spaces for restaurants and shops. Also, be sure to bring your parking ticket so I can validate it for FREE parking.

Once you park, take the public elevator located in the MIDDLE of the parking structure to the first floor, walk out to the Promenade, contact me on my cell number (PM me to get my number) and I’ll let you in the building.

Just to recap…

We all meet a lot of new people and finally put faces to TFW2005 screen names.

We had lots of beer and food, but more emphasis on the beer part!

In fact, we had sooo much beer that Josh (Sioce) and Bobby (Dunxican) volunteered to take the leftover brew home... I had to beg them... Not really!  

Next time, we'll have to assign someone to bring utensils!

Scott (Silvershot)… Your chicken wings were awesome!

There was a bunch of toys… It felt like a mini convention... Next time we'll need to bring some tables... I'm thinking we could fit at least 4 to 5 tables inside the club room just to display all the items for sale or trade.

It was amazing to see customs from Josh (Sioce), Daisuke (MAIDEN JAPAN) and Miguel (migston26)… I managed to get customs from Josh and Daisuke and I wanted to say…

“Thank you Josh (Sioce) for the KICK-ASS Devastator… It is truly a work of art and you are just getting better with each custom… Keep up the AWESOME job customizing… I am definitely a fan of your work!”

Thanks to Sebastian (G1-Junkie) for the killer Transformers Generations book… I soon will be broke and eating Top Ramen for life just to buy everything in that book (focus man!)… Also, my daughter, Dylan, loves Roddy!

Bobby (Dunxican) and Gonz (BlackzaraK) were the winners of the Poker game… Bobby came out on top (not what you're thinking) and took the majority of the winnings… I was the first one out, but there will always be a next time and revenge will be mine!

A special thank you to Mike (spartanm65) for planting the seed that got everything growing!

I also wanted to thank Jeff (rhodium1977) for taking some pics and posting it in the Convention and Get Togethers thread.

Next time, we'll have to take some group pics of everyone there.

It was a truly a great time with a good vibe and everyone was in their element!

The next one will be in October and we’ll start planning it in the coming month!  

Oh... One more thing... We will definitely have name tags at the next one!  

 

Ah damn, I heard about this from Jason jupiter and bigkid, but I couldn't make it. I'd like to make it to the next one!
