lol, it's not a knock off...and on another note, looks ok, but i'm not into gi joe or the comics enough to warrant buying one

 

It is interesting, doesnt say prime to me, but it certaily is interesting. I wonder what else the trailer is designed to do.

 

1. Double or triple of what? I know the official piece costs...oh ya there is no official piece.

3. So you have nothing from a garage/third party company? Your missing out man!!! The Bruticus upgrade is going to be oh so very sweet. Commander armors...Roddy Prime upgrade, G3 trailer, etc. etc.

Broaden your horizons, you will find your collection is quite a bit cooler.

Love the cab forward military design! Reminds me of G1 and Armada Overload but much better!The blurred pic of the bot mode looks like it could be an Optimus Prime figure like Knight Morpher. Makes me wonder if military colors would be used or red and blue. It may be expensive, but that's expected. The price would actually be reasonable given the time and effort to create new scratch built figures like this. It's good to see someone else find a niche like FP and others have found and taken advantage of.

 

I like it! Reminds me a lot of Pyro.

on topic though, can somebody clarify: I remember this is sorta based off of the rolling thunder, but did Prime appear as that in any of the crossover comics?

 

I'm not too familiar with the Rolling Thunder thing mentioned earlier, are we 'sure' this is what this is? Personally, I got an Armada Overload vibe from it.
Looks very nice to me.

Anyway, I'd say this figure looks to be pretty large. Judging by the screws in the wheels, maybe 20-25cm for the truck only? If so, with the trailer.... huge!  

3rd party stuff don't sell in retail mate. Anywhere I believe. And it's not a knockoff of a figure I know of anyway. I think you can add about $100 to your $15-20 and you'll be closer to what this is likely to cost. As this is the first I've heard of from this company, maybe they'll aim for a low cost to get a name in the biz, but who knows, if they're good quality, they're likely to sell anyhow.

 

Bought! Totally bought! There's three versions of Optimus Prime I've always wanted from the comics: Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime (check), Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime (comming soon!), and Hiss Tank Optimus Prime. Now I just need someone to make that last one and I'll be a happy Prime collector!

The design was never officially used, but was presented as concept art in the back of one of the TF/GI Joe crossover books. Can't remember which book off the top of my head though!

This is the Rolling Thunder. It was a massive mobile missile and command platform used by G.I. Joe. One of the biggest, best and most badass machines they had in their motorpools at the time.

This is Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime. It was a design created by Don Figueroa while he was attempting to pitch a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover comic concept, first to Dreamwave, then to Devil's Due, neither of which picked up on his idea. However, the concept art for Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime and Dominator Megatron have been floating around for years and have been something fans have been asking for in some official form since they first appeared.

Of all the potential and probable crossover toylines Transformers could partake in, the one that's been most desired has been a G.I. Joe x Transformers line. Even if they can't fit with actual Joe figures, if they made G.I. Joe vehicles that turned into Transformers characters, it would be freaking awesome.

And this figure right here will be proof of that.

I'm not a fan of G.I. Joe at all, but dammit all if that isn't a corking figure right there, I'll be watching this one with interest  

 

I don't know much about GI Joe, but I do know it has some brilliant vehicle designs. I'd happily welcome a GI Joe Transformers Crossover Line! As long as they came out better than the star wars or marvel crossovers...
