I usually have my mic on when I play on Xbox. I talk when others are talking, but for the most part I stay quiet.
I generally just keep my mic muted until I have something to say. I love this game, but it does alot of stuff that pi$$es me off - not getting killed, that's all in fun - I mean "game mechanic" stuff. Like, you can be walking along and just randomly get stuck to the floor - or a wall - or your "mark target" just won't work, or etc etc. I love Transformers, and I love playing this game - but it IS kinda crappy with some of it's glitches. On top of that, I tend to just shout expletives WHEN this stuff happens - so I tend to leave the mic muted
I ran into those kind of people on Deathmatch all the time. Now I've moved on to Team Deathmatch and no one really talks in the first place; it was music to my ears. I keep my mic muted too, but I'll have it on to hear what people are saying or if I feel like talking, which I haven't done yet lol.
I'd like to buy a headset and mic. Very useful for Escalation Strategization. Me and My friends were playing a game the other day. They all had mics and headsets, but of course, I don't. I could barely both of them talking at the same time, and the fact that I couldn't communicate with them was really annoying.
I usually use a headset on games like MW2, where you can mute others (ps3 here), but in WFC, I just don't care about the headset. People in Escalation that I play with, don't give a damn and gets ambushed or assaulted from behind, despite me trying to warn them that there's a ton of em in the stairs, watch out. So I hate the headset in general. I use it if I can mute people, tho. I wish I didn't sell my 360, so I at least had Party Chat available instead as a option. ^^
My main problem with the headset is that everyone who's not a swearing douchebag comes through sounding muffled and robotic like they're talking through Stephen Hawking's pillow.
I had that problem with my old mic, it would continuously make staticy/fuzzy noise for some reason. Most of the time my mic doesn't even pick up my voice, I guess I talk too quietly/soft.
if there are 3 or more people in aroom with a mic the mics lag up and you cant hear anyone! ITS 2010 WTF is up with taht lol
If I stumble into a room with that many mics, I just leave cause i can't stand all the chatter. Some people just really like to hear themselves & be heard. Unless your coordinating battle strategies, I say shut up & play.
I never use my headset. The only people who ever actually talk are annoying little kids. That, or I can't understand a word their saying.
