Out of the customs projects I have this is the first one that I have gotten done everything I wanted to get done. All I did was add some black paint into the molded features to make them stand out a lot more and to ad some depth. I dry brushed the sword to make it look weathered and used while making the Japanese characters stand out.

I have some more customs on the way so stay tuned!

Thanks, I enjoyed watching the detail come out as I went along. I think doing this is a must for owners of the figure... even if it's not as dark as black.

Looks good. Is that actually paint, or graphic pen, though? I ask because I used to ink up the panel lines on my old Gundam action figures (the american release ones didn't have inked lines, but the japanese ones did), and they came out very similarly to what you've got here. Mind you, I never dry-brushed anything, but I could probably get a similar effect by smudging some of the graphic pen ink across the plastic with my thumb.

I'm not trying to "call you out" on anything. Just curious about the method, as I did similar work many years ago.

I used black acrylic paint and a brush. I sorta globed it on and over the panel lines to make sure there was a lot in there... then I just took a paper towel and wiped off the excess (against the grain of the line to make sure I didn't remove what I wanted to stay). It very easy and it gets a great result!!!

Excellent work on this, man! That's the same way I do panel lining on figures like this. I actually have Drift standing here staring at me, just waiting for his panel lines. lol

You really brought out the details in this mold and the sword looks great.

Did you do the chrome yourself or are they from something different?

Yes we need another Escalation night. It's fun.
