I noticed that but then realised that the slanted section may not be at the back of the trailer but could be the front, which does look slanted.
Well, from the price point and the pics, looks like my biggest worry is allayed: Looks like he'll be scaled more to the Seekers and Grimlock than Optimus and Megatron (I love Optimus, but he's just too damn big. For all the griping about Grimlock being smaller, Grimmy really is the ideal size for an MP) I'll wait for some clearer pics before making any other judgements.
if you look at it, you can see the pipes under the slanted part. so it looks like the rear of the trailer will be boxy.
ATTENTION PLEASE. Hey guys...I think I see Hot Rod in there... Look at the picture that shows the photo of robot mode along with vehicle mode. The cab does not match the one in the other photo, it's much flatter and sleeker, like Hot Rod. Seriously, look at it, the design is not the same. You can see the front side window above the front wheel in the vehicle mode picture I mentioned, but those design features simply don't exist in the pic with the robot mode. The flatter hood appears to be the one that makes the chest in robot mode. It looks like you do a partial transformation of some kind and turn the vehicle around for the other mode. This also means he may have two different robot mode transformations, one with Hot Rod features, and the other Rodimus. I hope this will slow down the bitching. EDIT: I just noticed something else. That gun obviously transforms, and the main part of it looks an awful lot like Hot Rod's exposed engine. Pretty sure the gun transforms into the engine and plugs into the hole I see in his chest right under his head.
NO, look at the prototype vehicle prototype, the back of the trailer IS SLANTED! edit:well damn, now it looks straight, my eyes are playing tricks on me
The hell are you talking about? Rodimus isn't a Seeker. Nothing could be further from the truth. Do you consider previous Masterpieces to be a "LITERAL upscale with better articulation of the G1 figure"? Just because the Masterpiece features a scrupulously G1-accurate alt mode doesn't mean it's an upscale. On a side note, just how much does that gold Fortress Maximus cost? It's got to be a six-digit figure.
This is going to rock, Can't wait to see it finished! Rodimus is so much cooler than Prime! The bot mode looks fantastic from that crappy picture and I wouldnt have his campervan mode any other way. It would probably look rubbish trying to combine it. Or at least not like the original character. More like a PM Rodimus Prime! The only thing I think they could improve is getting rid of that stupid trailer cannon and filling it with something far more interesting. I know the original had it but I find guns a cop out for something cool. Like a mobile command centre with a swivelly chair and some screens.
Ugh, crappy seperate trailer. I thought the Titanium was moving Roddy in the right direction but obviously we're back to 1986. This is a shame.
In Kiss Play. Anyway, I don't think I could expect more from an MP Rodimus Prime. I just hope he has a good Matrix and chest chamber to hold it. Even better if the Matrix is the same mold as that one that fits in the chest of MP/20th Optimus Prime.
ahh. yes. i forgot about kiss players yeap you're right about the matrix he probably has communicators on his arms as well. one shows Kup and the other Springer/Arcee/Ultra Magnus seriously though, don't leave us hanging after this, please make Galvatron
I think you're letting your fantasies run away with you, son. The design of the cab is too bulky to pass off as the sleeker car mode, and the visible hinge and slot would spoil the design anyway.
I can't agree with any of that. The cab designs in both photos are identical. Perhaps one appears sleeker than the other because of the angle of the shots. And I CAN see the side of the window above the wheel in both photos, which proves that it's the same cab. Besides, common sense should tell you that Takara wouldn't attach the cab mode correctly in one shot, then mysteriously transform him into a car mode for another shot.
No, you can't. Zoom in on the photo, there is no window above that wheel, it's not up for discussion, it doesn't exist, and angle has nothing to do with it. Since you can see the wheel in that pic, you should be able to see the window above it. and maybe, just maybe, they did it to show that you can attach him to the trailer in either mode if you choose. ZOOM IN, that's not the side with the window your seeing, it's at an angle, it's a flat hood. Follow the angle at the top of the trailer, it matches the angle at the front of the car.
