The style changing is fine; I like that every artist does things a little differently. But I'd prefer it if they could at least keep the character designs consistent between the different styles.

The rest of the news sounds fine.

As for Don. Sorry. I NEVER want to see that atrocious art style again.

I'm LOVING the idea of a "G1" Lockdown! Lockdown is just awesome!

I LOVED that cover. Dons art for the most part was great for the ongoing. Just hated the faces. This cover shows that more traditional faces look great with that art style. If Don would've done that in the first place, the art in the first 6 issues would've been AWESOME!

I'd buy the trade if the faces are fixed.

Still doesn't change the fact that the ongoing story is lackluster. Artwork has been a problem, but I think the writing has been an even bigger problem. Costa's pacing is awful.

I miss DW. I wish Hasbro would step in and do something about IDW.

The only thing I wish they'd do is tone down the Mini-Series crap, that's why DW folded in the first place on top of all the piss poor sales after a while because of the million and one variant covers they kept pumping out.

Quite frankly I would like IDW to change their approach to Transformers Comics.

    Ongoing every month
    Movieverse every two months
    Minis every three months

That way we aren't being inundated with four to five comics every month. As it stands we've got Ongoing, Movieverse, Minis and the occasional miscellanious issue published greatly. My budget can only take so much, I'd love to support IDWs work, but with the approach they've got going I get stuck with five to six comics every month left over from the past two months because they're drowning me with all the issues from Minis and the like. When one ends they immediately start up another one.

I strongly suggest they get out of that habit before it kills the fans interest. Maybe then this Costa guy can focus more on the ongoing and make it as good as his work in Ironhide has been. (I find myself enjoying more the Minis than the ongoing because they've leashed Costa a little when it comes to them thus ensuring that we get a beginning, middle and end.)

As it stands right now we're getting a beginning, a beginning, a beginning, a beginning, something vaguely resembling a middle and then just for the hell of it a loop-de-loop taking us back to the beginning again. When dealing with story arcs sometimes it is better to focus on the primary plot points and leave secondary ones alone until their time is ripe for the introducing. Though a few small nods or hints as to what is to come with maybe a single panel or something showing off some vague clue of something neat wouldn't be so bad.

I also feel that the Ongoing needs more Transformers and less Humans. We know what Skywatch is doing, we know their motives, do we really need to see them every issue discussing their plans? Or having pretty boy Spike killing Scrapper?

Ugh, I'm rant heavy at the moment, my appologies. It's just... I seriously miss the days when all I had to buy was one issue of TFs a month with the occasional special. Next thing That Revelations or whatever sub-title Hearts of Steel was billed under will make a comeback.

Huh? I was under the impression that DW folded because Pat Lee was an atrocious businessman, not because of sales or mini series.

Hate to say it, but: THIS.

Also, how many mini series did DW have? Cuz all I can think of is MicroMasters and War Within. Armada was ongoing then turned into Energon. G1 had two six issue volumes and then their ongoing.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but for IDW we have; Megatron Origin, Infiltration, Escalation, Devastation, Revelation, All Hail Megatron, Maximum Dinobots, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Drift, Spotlights, Alliance, Defiance, Etc...

Seems like WAY more minis to me than DW.
