Lol, I suggested it, since Seed/Seed Destiny kits are very popular in Japan. I would have said PG Infinite Justice Gundam, but that will never happen.
Anyone whose built the Sinanju MG have any advice for me as I break into it? It would be very appreciated.
There's a 3rd Blue Frame? I want it. Or maybe finally make the Gold Frame Amatsu as a PG. PG Infinite Justice? I'd be all over an Aegis, but i don't really see much they could do to IJ that they didn't already do with the MG.
Quan[T] is most likely to get a PG, I'm afraid. I won't speak too ill of it yet, though. Maybe Bandai can do something with it to make it more interesting than 00. I'm still not convinced you can do a PG 00 suit without ruining what makes the designs interesting. As for dream designs, my absolute favorites would be a Unicorn with a fully lit inner frame or a Sinanju. Imagine, a huge, well detailed amazingly posable Sinanju loaded with accessories. That would be just too badass for me to handle. Even better would be the Unicorn. Give it all the weapons including at least one set of Gatling Guns and my head would explode. Just imagining seeing it in the dark, the whole frame glowing red. It'd be the coolest thing ever. Hell, if they don't do it, I might have to buy another Unicorn kit and try to mod the inner frame to accommodate 5-10 red LEDs. It'd be tough, but the frame's fairly hollow. That might be a fun project for next year if Bandai doesn't give me it this year. Other PGs I'd like, Astray Blue (Given it has some original accessories), Freedom (Not Strike, I hate that gaudy frame), a Rick Dom (Yes,I know it has a Glorious Grade, but I'd love a real PG), Nu/Hi-Nu, Destiny with wings, Turn A (again only if wings included), Gouf, or Crossbones would all be amazing. Actually, that's quite a long list. I guess anything besides Quan[T] or Strike Freedom would be awesome.
Another Strike Freedom? That would be facepalm worthy, as a few others have said. You might as well make a Quan[T]. Oh wait...
If you take a good, hard look at the runner separation and internal frame of the PG 00, you will find that it's already designed with the Qan[T] in mind. You can pretty much guarantee that's coming. I can't say that it would come out before something like a PG Astray Blue or Gold, but it certainly WILL come out.
Yeah, the Quan[T] is a shoe in eventually unless, like Valkysas said, 00 did so terrible Bandai doesn't want to risk it, but I wouldn't be shocked if we see something different first. I will say that, judging by what other PGs were shown in the magazine, it won't just be a simple Trans-Am 00 repaint. They didn't show any of the other simple recolors, metallic editions, clear or Strike Rouge. It has to be a different character. I wouldn't rule out Astray Blue. Both it and Unicorn seem to be likely candidates if it's not Quan[T]. Bandai is really pushing Unicorn and the kits sell really well. It's also closer to the release of OVA 2 than the 00 film. If it was the film, I'd expect it to be released close to the film. By winter, I think the market for those suits will be far less. If Bandai was smart, they'd delay the PG Quan[T] at least until the DVD comes out early next year. Given all this, I'm starting to think Unicorn is a likely choice. It'd be quite a nice PG. The design would really benefit from all the small details and extra panels PGs have. Hell, maybe they can finally release a kit of that suit that is actually able to bend its knees. Just started watching Turn A and I really like it. I didn't realize it was basically Gundam in a Gone with the Wind setting. It's quite strange and awesome at the same time. The designs are also quite refreshing. I'm only 3 eps in, but it's quite nice. A surprising amount of nudity, though, so I wouldn't watch it around young kids, at work, etc.
My previous post notwithstanding, I would give my eyeteeth for a PG Unicorn. And if it lit? All the better.
Yeah. Maybe... In a brilliant stroke of luck. Or there could be a dark horse winning. -Looks at Sazabi-
Damn Squee! How'd you do that. It looks amazing. Is that a kit or a figure and did you add all the detailing yourself? I'd love to know the story behind that thing. Can it hold the lance well? I know the Crossbones Full Cloth can have trouble holding up its crossbow. After months of walking past Hi-Nu and being disappointed with the funnel system I decided to do something about it. I went out, got some electrical tape and wire and fashioned some new, much stronger rods to hold it up. Now I can finally do a full deployment set-up. It looks amazing. I highly recommend anyone with the space and kit to do the same. I think I'm going to spray paint the wires black to make them less noticeable, but as is it's no worse looking than the clear rods and much, much more stable. You need to get a thinner gauge wire than the rods, though, so you can actually bend the things, but a little electrical tape on the ends lets them fit snuggly in the correct holes. I'll post up pics later this week.
Say, can anyone care to comment on the Master Grade Hi-Nu Gundam? A hobby store I go to has it for 117.99...and I've been eying it for awhile now...
Too much for that kit. It's an amazing kit, but I got mine from Hobby Wave Japan for about $80 shipped. It's a great suit with wonderful engineering, just don't buy it for the funnels unless your willing to replace the rods like I did. That being said, do buy it. Just don't pay over $100 for it. I'll post some pics later, maybe that'll help you decide. It is one of my favorite MGs now that I've done my mod. It can do a nice variety of poses, has a cool stand, and just looks great. Also invest in some waterslide decals for it. They make the suit look much better. The shoulder pieces, skirt armors and shield all look much more complete with their symbols on and I really don't like the way the dry transfers look.
No. You could get it much cheaper. Hobby Wave japan has it for about $80 shipped if your willing to import. Heck, Hobby Wave US has it for $82 and you'll get it fast. Just buy it from them. Hobbywave.com I've used them before and can vouch that they're a great store. If for some reason you can't buy online, it's not too bad, I guess. It's just you can get it cheaper. Looking at my new full deployment kit, though, it's not hard to recommend. It's a wonderful set piece. I just wish Bandai hadn't included those plastic rods. They're absolute shit. No chance to hold up. Wire will hold up for a very long time. Just want to throw out a question to the more advanced modelers out there. Do you guys have any suggestions about how to replicate this type of set-up with other kits? I'd love to somehow mount cherudim's rifle bits like this. I'd also like to do it with the basic strike freedom. Any good ideas about how to attach the wire to the weapon and how to attach it all to an Action Base 2 (for Cherudim)? Thanks!
If you buy from Hobbywave US, it's $10 flat rate shipping no matter what you buy. So you could get another kit as well since you were willing to pay so much. @yami4ct: Yea it's a MG. I've always wanted to make an x2, and i decided to make one that was unique. The camo is what i consider a little different from basic digital camo. I like to refer to it as colony camo. It's supposed to simulate the lights from a colony. I based my designs off of putting these two drawings together:
I'd be a big suprise if it "Would" be Exia, Bandai does a lot of Side tracking when it comes to releases, Like MG wing zero, Then MG Wing. Or HG Susanoo, to HG masurao. MG Destiny to MG impulse and its variant, okay I could only think about those releases, but some claim form NK Cbox, that Unicorn was a good candidate, but then again, there were a bunch of UC fans debating over newer fans
Sorry for DOuble posting, I meant thison the new PG, and PG 00 is a fricking brick, reason must be because the designers werent given enough time, to work on the articulation, or bandai went lazy on our asses
I was wondering if anyone can help me out here. So yesterday at the mall I purchased two model kits, one's name was Lie Yan or something and the other dude looked like a typical Gundam guy. Would these be Gundam kits or cheap knockoffs?
