Just goes to show Lockdown is one of the coolest characters to come down the pike in a LOOOOOONG time.
Okay, now, idiotic in-joke out of the way: this all looks excellent and gives me a little hope for IDW's future. Perhaps things will actually make some modicum of sense now? And I am all for G1 Lockdown!
Please just let Don draw Transformers the way he used to. It's what brought me back into comics. I haven't bought a TF comic consistently since DW. I know, Pat Lee...puffy parts...thief...blah, blah, blah. Give me Don and over stylized G1 characters and I would be happier than a pig in sh...mud.
May someone please post a pic here of Don's faces? A couple of people have commented on his less than disireable faces. I REALLY need to see this! Thank you in advance
So Sector f***ing Seven gets its own min-series, which will be the first Tranformers series to not feature any actual Transformers (that are alive, anyway), and the Thirteen are STILL getting the shaft!! Jeez!
Alex Irvine writing more WFC books? No surprise there, hasbro's mentioned a bunch of times they want to get more books out there.
I definitely think he’s been taking the fan's input since his latest artwork is going in that direction. Here the cover for Ongoing 9 and the face are looking more g1 while retaining their complex body design. I actually hope IDW adopt this as thier house-style since it just looks awesome.
That works for me if that's what it is. Though I had no problem with the art style in the first place, but the fact every few issues was a different style bugged me. Same thing that annoyed me with the first run Titan TF comics - the art changed every issue. I'm not talking little things either - we managed to have Arcee represented by both her toys in the same arc because the different artists were using different versions of her for reference!
The only change I noticed in the art for ongoing was the teeth, they looked awful at first, like a comb... oh and Hot Rod went from being a Dodge Viperish car to what looks like a Pagani Zonda and Bumblebee went from being a Beetle to an old muscle car kinda thing...
Oh gawd.. G1 Lockdown -_- 'cuz every single character needs to exist in every continuity, I do not like it.
Lockdown isn't going to make me buy Drift. I hate attention-grabbing gimmicks like that. By god, do I await the day IDW does something worthwhile with the Transformers license.
I thought they were up until All Hail Megatron... Then dropping Furman and keeping him from harvesting all of the seeds he planted killed it for me, at least.
I could take more, but I already had that one on my hard-drive. The Thirteen "getting the shaft" is out of IDW's hands. Hasbro has told them the Thirteen is too important a subject and it's something they'd like to develop themselves rather than letting a 3rd party comic team make it up.
