They would've known she was leaving for quite a while. It was only announced before filming that Megan Fox wasn't returning. They had plenty of time to write in her character.

 

On the bright side though this might show that the writer can think on his feet. The Fox character leaves but instead of oh my gosh what are we going to do the writer finds an opportunity to insert something from the early days of Transformers.

If our new writer is the type that makes lemonade out of the lemons he finds dumped in his lap then that could be a good thing.

 

Actually, this might mean that Mikaela was, yet again, dispensible to the plot of TF3, making the rewrite simple...and possibly even brainless. The fact that they could lift her out without significant impacts to the story or plot elements (based on timing) tell me that her character was unnecessary.

The problem is he isn't a new writer...

People left and right are blaming Kurtzman & Orci for the previous movies, but last time I checked, Krugher worked on ROTF just as much, so the script that they handed in was just as much his.

I'm afraid now that, since the previous two writers are gone, people are hoping for wonders when it comes to the writing..but in the end I don't think it will matter all that much. Unfortunately for writers, there are alot of people with their hands in the cookie jar, yet they still get all the blame in the end.

The name Carly IS a nice touch, I agree with that, but I don't think it will really make a difference. Last time I checked, K&O had planned to insert Sideswipe&Sunstreaker into ROTF. Then Bay read about the twins, and came up with the brilliant idea of Skids & Mudflap..

 

The just hope the live Carly doesn't have the cartoon Carly's "thunder thighs".

do remember the only new characters that we got alot of info on their personalities WITHOUT reading the comics was the twin autobot brother whom i like to call mario and luigi, jetfire, the fallen, sideswipe and devastator. in certain case scenarios, i agree about middle movies being terrible. there was about a dozen new transformers shown in the film and we still know very little about them. and do remember, half of the film alone was filler of confersations that many people had no intrests. and plus anyway, with Bay, we wouldnt be able to see most of the character development with all the explosions.....thats the main problem. he doesn't balance the battle scenes out well. like tf1 2007 movie, that was great character development through out the film mixed with heavy battle scenes. tf2 its like half the film as i said before is just talk with some decent development and the other half is guns blazing without any development other than jetfire realizing his destiny. plus the scene with Sam being injured on the battlefield was a quick cover up because if he never got in the car accident, that scene could have gone a different way.

 

at least the first movie didn't get any award what so ever unlike tf2 which got Razzies. plus do remember the megan fox really was just there for looks which influenced many people to go and see tf2. at least in tf1 she had some actual value. although carly on the other hand, i want to see how she will play out because apparently she doesn't need to know how to act. she does look more "appropriate" for this character.

 

Actually, no. The quick cover-up was the space bridge, not the battle. The only thing they had to deal with was his hand, which is why you see him screaming after being teleported, then it gets wrapped up and stays that way the rest of the time.

 

Actually it's kind of funny because the first Transformers film won the MTV Movie of the Year award. Plus several other awards here and there, just not the Oscars but you know what sort of films the Oscar people like. When the film was winning awards we were told that awards mattered and represent the will of the people.

Revenge of the Fallen didn't even make the nomination cut for the MTV Movie Awards except for Best WTF Moment, which it failed to win. The only big awards rack up was at the Razzies and if not for the Sandra Bullock bribe it might have made a clean sweep. Once Transformers stopped winning awards we were told awards don't matter and they don't represent the will of the people.

So now it's all about money in an attempt to somehow make the film look like it was so well loved by everyone on Earth except for some people on the internet, comedy writers and Razzie voters. As if the $557 million Twilight Eclipse has made so far world wide makes it a great film and not just cashing in on a fad.

 

It's not like Shia's that good-looking. I mean, he's made a career out of playing "average guy" archetypes.

I think one of the advantages that Shia LaBeouf has as an actor is that he's got that look where he can play the average guy because he can pull off that look but at the same time he's got a look that the women go crazy for.

 

So, im just going to take a wild guess and say shes not Sams love interest, but like a cousin or something. Carly WITWICKY, if that will be her last name please BAy. Now if hasbro can release a HA in the third toyline of her and Bee.
