    1. You need to see what happens outside the Western world. Far more horrific things happen daily. Hell, North Korea is the fulfillment of Orwell's nightmares.

    2. I always have to take documentaries like Jesus Camp with a grain of salt. Too many directors make movies like that with a very distinct bias and badly mangle the truth in the editing room (see also Michael Moore, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, etc). Of course, true or not, it doesn't make the images any less disturbing.

It's on my "rewatch" list. At the time it was released, I was impressed with the set design, but the story seemed far too familiar- like something I'd seen on The Next Generation a dozen times by that point. I'm hoping the fifteen year break helps me see it with fresher eyes.

Scream used to eff with me cause I thought some asshole was going to try and copy it. Recently, Splice has one scene that just, well, ef'd my head up. The fact that they filmed that scene so fully makes me wonder what type of sick dude wrote it.

Faces of Death and stuff like that never really disturbed me much. Real carnage doesn't affect me much.

There's also this one, I can't remember the name of, when I was a kid. It had 2 males and a female walking around naked, and when they touched people, the person's limbs would fall off and sand poured out. Scared the PISS out of me as a kid. Would love to see it now and see if I could get through it :D

I was shown this in my 10th grade chem class, surely as a reminder not to fuck with science.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose. More because I looked up the real case files and photos of her and the way she looked a few days before her death was disturbing.

I think that when you are subjected at a young age to something, you never get past the first impression.
as in I was allowed way too young to sit up and watch "Creepshow" with my folks.
i own a copy, but i rarely watch it alone because it still creeps me out.

I can't watch the first attack in "Jaws". it still disturbs me.

a short list of other disturbing films:
Lair of the White Worm (confusing or disturbing? about the same)
    The Pit and the Pendulum
Hellraiser- the first time i saw it years ago.

and not a movie, but have you seen those old Tool music videos?
Jeez, that was the only time i was ever creeped out watching MTV (before i quit watching it.)
