i saw battle blades here at my local toys r us today in ft lauderdale. too bad i hate movie verse.

 

as an aside, i really don't like this whole package everything in 'bot mode they're doing now, but i think it especially suits the voyagers poorly for some reason.

 

Nice! I'm passing on the Voyagers but I'm definitely getting those Scouts. Hope the next wave of Generations comes out this quickly!

 

Holy--!! That's insane! TRU is the only one carrying the new stuff... seems like almost everyone else is holding off til August..

 

I would love to find OP at my local TRU. Then I could cancel my Pre-Order at BBTS.

Shoot I love it! One of the problems they were having in the past was that they one too many vehicles out there in the same color scheme (too many purple tanks for example) that's one of the reason we were getting non show accurate color schemes like Armada Tidal wave. Another example is too many Tank modes in a size class which is one of the reason classics Galvatron ended up being a deluxe sized figure. In robot mode, I would imagine they could get more variety visually.


It also helps fans like me who are excited about finding a figure, getting it home and transforming him only to find huge paint miss-haps and scratches on faces or broad focal areas. I hate that!!!! In robot mode I can see all that before transforming him and thus saving me a trip to return the cruddy painted lemons out there.

I love robot mode window boxes. I get to see the character rather than having a box with just another car, plane or truck in the window especially with figures I want to keep MISB.

 

Hey Canadians! Start checking out your local WallyWorlds! I just saw HFTD Scouts and Powercore Combires at the Marlborough Walmart in Calgary, and it looks like they just got in... Never made it to TRU yet though. But they are usually not far behind WM.

 

I just picked up Hubcap and Brimstone yesterday. (I live in Canada)

We did seem to get cheated of the last waves of the ROTF line.   I wanted Ratchet.

Yup, I was starting to think this is what would happen. With Target and Wal-Mart taking so long to get their butts in gear, the most wide-spread and easy-to-find toys for the new lines will likely be Wave 2 or even Wave 3. Wave 1 (and possibly Wave 2) toys might be harder to find because of the limited distribution during the time frame for stores to order them. This is why I've ordered nearly all of the Wave 1 toys online (don't have a nearby TRU), even though I almost never do that with lines because Wave 1 toys are usually the most plentiful.

I'm not all that fond of it either, though of course it's a minor thing. It also means it takes longer to get them out of the package, since you have to use more twist ties to secure a robot in package as opposed to a tank, car, or truck.

 

Either that...or there will be a glut of Wave 1 figures sitting at the wider retailers because they have been sitting on stock while working on their "resets", that seems to take forever to complete.

I actually kinda like the new packaging. It takes up a helluva lot less space, and the new paper twist ties really didn't seem that much of an inconvenience to me on Seaspray (although that could change with others).

 

I work at Wal-Mart, and they aren't ordering any toys for the August reset yet-- there aren't any TF boxes minus 1 box of NEST battle packs in the back. So if they're sitting somewhere, they're sitting at a more central distribution center than individual stores, at the very least.

 

A problem I can see happening with them in robot mode is it is harder for kids to describe to relatives what figure they want as a gift. Using Voyagers as an example, before, kids could asked Grandma for the dump truck or the tank. Now, they have to try to descibe the robot & hope Grandma somehow remembers the name or the description is good.

Yeah my toys r us in central pa has voyager payload, night ops ratchet, leader battle hooks prime, the 1st wave of deluxes and legends. first wave of powercore combiners 2 packs. Also 1st wave of generations deluxes. Also everything is buy 1 get 50% off second.. Kmart has 1st wave of powercore combiners 5 packs.
