In a perfect world, I would love this :)

I'm definitely in the TransFORMers camp as well. It's finger-nails-on-the-chalkboard to me when I hear it the other way.

But I'm an accent-obsessed, English-Lit trained, New Englander with half my family living south of the Mason-Dixon....so I'm sensitive to this stuff....

Because there aren't enough petty divisions in fandom.

*Psst, if you guys read the Katakana, the Japanese pronounciation is actually Toransufoomaa.

    Anyway.

Chalk me in under "trans-FOR-mer(s)". I may be easily wrong as English is a ridiculous language with wishy-washy rules, but "form" would be the root word and thus get the emphasis.

At least that's my best take on it.

    I pronounce it JaAm!

Seriously, or as serious as I'm going to get with this topic, I pronounce it pretty evenly, due to me having one of the UK's flattest least interesting accents.

Ugh, I can see someone wading in with "you're not a true fan unless you pronounce it xxxxx way (whilst respecting the font)" any minute now.

Well, I don't know if this counts or not, but when I talk about the Transformers, I emphasize it as "transFORMers", but when I just say the word "transform", I use either "TRANSform" or "transFORM".

I go with the way it was pronounced by Victor Caroli ('We now return to the Trans-FOR-mers'). Tho I've almost always heard "electrical 'transformer'" pronouced with the emphasis on the first syllable, which would be most likely why someone unfamiliar with or new to the franchise would pronounce it that way. I personally feel that emphasis on the second syllable is less harsh on the ear and thus I like it better.

Never really thought about it, but I guess "TransFORMers" is the way I've always said it and heard it.

I honestly have never thought about this.

Guess I'm not the picky, but I guess I say TRANSformers.

It could be worse, I've heard Tranchformurs.

When my dad says it he always says trans really loud then says formers. Tehre was some one talking about them in public who did the same. I just say transFORMers I guess. It dosent' sound weird that way.

TRANS-formers for me. When I heard the theme song as a kid and they say Trans-FORM-ers I just took that as a way to sing the word, not actually pronounce it. I don't think I've ever heard any one say Trans-FORM-ers aside from the theme song. Also on the G1 cartoon they say it the other way on the commercial bumpers "We now return to the Trans-formers"

ALL syllables accented, shouted, and capitalized, as TRANSFORMERS is so completely awesome that de-emphazising any part of it would be admitting weakness.
