yes, He is one of the nicest guys. I made contact with my contact and she was pleased I called. So I'll be there a few hours. I might be a Transformer too. But not the robot kind.

Kool, stop by and say hi! Our panel is 10:30 to 11:30, I'll be the only lady on it, I'll be wearing a blue TF shirt and have pigtails (per hubbys request... and I quote "Itz anime fest you have to! LoL")

HEH. It was a good panel, next year it will be bigger and maybe more of our Jayhawkers (from TF:IV Beast Wars) will be there. Had a fun time getting reaquainted with old botcon friends, and met a few new ones [Jumpstart17 and her hubby]. It was a 10+ Prime panel. I was fighting for a Transformers Panel since AFW1, yet the decision staff back then denied a Transformers panel, Finally 6 years later. Good job.

I felt like a total ding dong up there thank primus matt and Phil were there! I felt loved being the only girl on the panel... maybe I should do one by myself next year too... That's quite a wide range of towns there. I'm guessing about the only thing in those towns is going to be Wal-Mart. It's a pretty good bet that you won't see any of the new figures in Wal-Mart until the modular reset in August, and I'm guessing that won't take place until the first or second week of August. The only place he's been spotted in Wichita so far is Toys R Us.

K-Mart at 47th & Broadway in Wichita has the PCC 5-packs, PCC scouts (Huffer, Searchlight, and Smolder), and HFTD Wave 1. The scouts were $10.99, so I think I'll hold off on Huffer until Wal-Mart puts them out.

In fact, right now TRU has a buy 1 get 1 50% off deal until July 17th (this Saturday). So if you get two figures, depending on prices, it would be like getting the figures for store price and the savings would cover the shipping, and you would save on the gas to get you to wichita!

Or at least closer than one of the coasts. Wasn't it in Ohio a couple of years ago? If they did something like that again, I would probably suck it up and take my boy with me.

Amen to that. Why not the midwest? Wichita, St. Louis, Dallas. Plenty of cities, why always the coasts?

the thing that most people look at when doing cons is "well known" places... and to most that means anywhere but the middle of the country. ICT is the frakin air capital! WE CAN'T GET ONE FREAKING CONVENTION here... I like AFW but itz not well known

As of 12:30 pm, TRU Wichita had: PCC Bombburst and Skyburst, PCC Huffer, Smolder, and 2 Searchlights.

They also recieved some of the HFTD scouts including: Kickback, Hubcap, Brimstone, and that Dune Runner repaint I can't remember.

Also there are a couple of the usual HFTD voyagers

The BOGO 50% sell is still going on until tomorrow, so it's a good time to pick these up if you can

I think Optimist is right, if we can wait until Aug 1, I bet we will see a swarm of these figures. Problem is, I am trying to save money because TRU's attempts to clear out old stock saves on the new stuff coming out. It sure gets me in the door

It's very doubtful that we'll ever have a Botcon in Wichita. Our airport is tiny, it actually costs people more money to fly into ICT than a larger airport. Fewer flights come through here due to it's size thus necessitating a higher cost per seat. Additionally, we don't have much in the way of tourist attractions. Every Botcon includes a series of tours/outings in the days before the actual con; it's Brian Savage's way of earning more money. Yes, we do have these major aircraft manufacturers however post 9/11 they can't cater to large tour groups anymore. The best we can hope for is either Kansas City, Oklahoma City, or the DFW area.
