    This is about Mikaela :
Many fans were right. Her absence created a "dent" in the plot. But glad to hear that everything's back to normal. :)

    Oh. Right, yeah.
    I must have misread it.

Mr. Chow will be sending his two Asian henchmen over to Mr. di Bonaventura's house to correct him on pronunciation of Ken Jeong's name.

I'm glad that we finally have confirmation that Rosie is not Mikaela. I hate it when they have multiple actors play the same role in sequels. I wonder how they are going to explain Mikaela's absence? Decepticon attack would be my pick.

She was bitching about being Sam's girlfriend & threatening to dump him at every chance she got in the second movie. So it wouldn't be very hard to believe that they simply broke up. Besides, how many people stay together with the very first person they date? I think having them still together in the second movie was pretty unrealistic, especially with her attitude.

I'm sure it'll be a lot simpler than that (e.g. typical break up explanation: they grew apart, he/she dumped her/him, etc.).

Wouldn't it be nice if it was a simple "She moved on" piece? But they probably won't.

    Yeah, it should be. With Mikaela's character . . . .

. . . . she was built up with 2 movie's worth of characterization. To simply have her "move on" would be too simple given my above statement and thought. As long as it's not made into too big of a deal, things will be fine.

I actually have been thinking it would be a GREAT spin on Sam's character if he was deeply hurt by an apparent breakup, especially if it was due to the Transformers bringing their war to Earth.

Eh, all of that being said, I'm going to watch a movie about fighting alien robots. The comments about the 3-D filming continue to excite :)

The only negative hit on the Mikaela story is that she was upset that he wouldn't say he loved her, then they end the second movie on that relationship high where he admits he loves her. To jump into the third with her just gone, they're going to need something more than just, "it's over." Unfortunately, I see this being one of those glossed over plot points where she's just gone and Sam just doesn't care. I really hope I'm wrong, and they have him play hurt over it, but that kind of depth isn't something I really expect at this point.

I also find it troubling that he says in the breath that the only way past that plot hole was to add a whole slew of additional actors. Like you can cover a plot hole with additional cast? I just don't see how that helps focus the story. In fact, I see it pushing the story even more away from coherence.

I really hope I can enjoy the third movie. The second one kind of left me cold. It wasn't horrible, but in retrospect it was a disappointment after the first movie. Things like this interview just don't fill me with hope.

Well, I think the good part of this whole scenario is that some of them have had to eat a slice of humble pie and admit that RotF was less than stellar, regardless of the moneymaker it was (is?). Granted I don't expect a movie that is going to have many layers of depth, but I do think that the third go will be at least a better attempt of a movie and story than the second was.

Or perhaps I'm just being overly optimistic. Time will tell, I suppose.

Agreed can't wait to see what's going to be done with Shockwave, and as for 3-D my theater hasn't shown a 3-D movie since Spy Kids 3 Gave Over.

Ok ,I am a little nervous about this. It almost feels like the last ditch effort to make a great movie so lets throw all the actors we can into this and hope for the best. With all these actors in this now are they going to be screaming for screen time which could screw up the movie??? I don't know about this one.

The scary part is that pretty much everyone involved has come forward to say they weren't happy with the way 2 turned out except for the one person who has the ability to make or break the film, Michael Bay himself. The fact that they made as major a change as changing the leading lady and having to "write" on the fly again leaves me with a bad vibe I just can't shake.

I really want to be wrong, but I'm pretty much sitting in a place where I won't let myself build up hope again. I'd much rather go in expecting the equivalent of 2 and being surprised than go in expecting better and being let down again.

If Bay is having a ton of fun shooting this, then we are gonna be in for one hell of a treat because that will show through in his film.
I cant fucking wait for this!!!!

im one of those poeple who find 3d nonimpressive at all not only for watching 3d movie on dvd releasae 2 basic colors whole time red, & green but mostly i saw avatar in imax the sound level was very low sa tf1 & tf2 in normal screen versions my ears where ringing on normal screen than on the imax movies.

i find the 3d to be overrated not impressive in live action movies you want to do it in animated movies thats fine but not live action
