Wow I need to do some serious hunting to track this guy down. He sounds great!

Check your local TRUs!!! I've been to 4 different TRUs in the past week and they were all stocked with SS. Two of those stores I visited tonight and they both had him, you won't regret it!

 

This. I have been to walmarts and targets in my area and tru is the only one to have the new stuff out. Leader is easily the best version of movie Starscream, you will not be disappointed.

 

Paints apps are never affected by part count that I'm aware of. Every figure gets the same number of paint apps based on size class. Any exceptions to this is usually to give a figure MORE paint, not less.

The problem with Starscream is that so many paint apps had to go towards his tattoos. A simpler jet mode deco, and not having the robot mode tattoos on his arms, legs, and head would have given a lot more paint to highlight other details.

 

amazing what a little nailpolish remover can do for a figure...no more giant red "TRY ME" tab.

 

My only knock on leader SS isn't the paint, its the lack of wrist movement (no swivel) and the fact that the fingers are made so long, if they need to be that long, give them two joints each. Other than that, everything is awesome, except maybe the godawful voice, lol.

Got mine delivered today from the recent TRU online deal along with half off BB bumblebee (thanks to the poster of that info!). Mine doesn't seem to be as silver as the photos posted here, perhaps the lighting used on the pics made him brighter looking, not sure? And he's missing the paint app tattoo on the left side of his face when compared to the posters pics, weird. No worried tho as he's destined for a full repaint anyway. I didn't realize how big he was from the pics I've seen. When he was still in the box the first thing I said to myself was 'his head is huge'. Now out of the box, he seemingly towers over my other leaders (rotf prime, tftm megs and brawl). He doesn't actually 'tower' over them, but he is larger and makes megatron look like a little girl. I'm not disappoint at all, he's amazing!

 

One of the nicest Gerwalk modes of ANY jetformer I've seen.

 

A bit off topic but still Starscream related... The leader SS is cool and all but its still too small to take a group pic similar to the promo photo seen for the first movie. So I've just purchased the huge True Heroes F-22 jet, and now I can finally take the photo I've always wanted to take.. It looks close to scale with the rest of the TF movie toys..




If only Hasbro would do a movie Starscream close to the scale of the True Heroes jet.. One that would transform.. Supreme class maybe...

 

Mine finally came in today, and he is amazing. I'll be removing the batteries tomorrow, so the crappy voice clips don't bother me. The only thing that really bothers me is how bad (either movie) Leader Megatron looks next to him. Standing up straight, Starscream towers over him, looks far more detailed, and just way too amazing to be displayed next to him. I absolutely love this figure, I am glad they waited this long and got it right. I just hope they finally give us a good Megs in the third movie (even though it would take away from getting a different leader fig).

I can't imagine if they gave us a Leader Blackout with this kind of detail.

 

Oh hell yeah... I wish.. But I doubt we would ever see a Leader Blackout.. But who knows.. I've always wanted a Leader SS, and Hasbro answered our prayers. Maybe if the fans demand a Blackout leader and Hasbro take notice, anything is possible.. As for the movie Megatron toys, thats the reason why I don't have any of his figures from any of the classes coz I think all the movie Megatron figures look really bad... I'm really happy with Starscream getting the Leader treatment...

 

Has anyone considered trimming the fingers down at the next "joint"? Any regrets after doing so?

 

I got him today and love him.. I can actually transform him..

I tried with Jetstorm and Prime but gave up mid transformation and changed them back. Starscream I can do fairly easily.. Good complexity with out being nearly impossible like Prime and Jetfire, nor being overly easy like Megatron..

 

Been obsessing over those arm clips again.........and i concluded they're not really strong enough to support the weight of the arms.

So i took the tab holes from the bottom of Leader Primes feet and filed them down with a pen knife until they were able to fit in the triangular section.

Gotta say, so far they're a much tighter, more supportive fit.

 

The Leader Class Starscream is small when compared to the giant True Heroes F-22.... The leader almost looks like Voyager class...haha..
