Just from skimming through this thread I've decided my next TF purchase will be both Almanacs. When I've got the cash, that is.

Damn, some of those spoilers really make me miss the show.

 

The season 4 summary sounds pretty poor. About half those episodes are blatant fillers.

 

It was just early planning, probably an outline. I doubt anyone had written any episodes yet as they didn't have a green light for the next season. But they had to have a basic guide to plan ahead for designs and so on.

I thought the first Almanac was the best TF book I've ever read, and this one puts THAT one to shame.

Seriously, all this awesome fanwankery can't be good for the universe. Some star's going to explode somewhere else in the galaxy and take out a fledgling civilization to make up for this, I just know it.

 

i got my local bookstore to order it in for me. i was gonna download the first one, but couldnt, so i bought it instead. this time i wasnt gonna waste my time trying to download this one, i want the book! it feels so much more official owning it.

The best homage I've found in the book was Skids with the limbo parasites. 

 

Skids was indeed awesome. Never expected to see HIM, of all 'bots, in there, given how much Wyatt hates him. (I know the head design wasn't drawn by Wyatt, but still.)

 

I paid full rrp for this £14.99 from my independant comic shop. it is well worth paying full rrp for. The depth of coverage in this volume in particular is superb. Even at £10 it'd be worth it! Its not a slender volume by any stretch, and those Japanese books that contain similar information are half the size and three (of four) times the price.

What I have liked most is seeing the depth and care that was put into Animated. It has a complete history of their pocket of the Transformers Universe, including the solar system in which Cybertron exists - and its position in the wider Universe! A bit of a mad thing to get excited about (but some of the names of the other planets made me chuckle - Eternia, Skaro and Rimmerworld, anyone?) , but testament to how these off screen details added to what you see on screen.

Interesting to see other Hasbro/ Kenner properties like Inhumanoids and MASK referenced too!

 

Well it was the kind of treatment appropriate for a hated character, plus it ties in neatly with the G1 comic.

It's the name of a planet from the Known Space science fiction books by Larry Niven.
