    Well bleah.

I loved buster prime, in fact have 2 normal busters and the one that came packaged with jetfire. Makes hasbro's Leader prime look cheap.

Im not a huge fan of movie starscreams look anyway, and I got the leader hasbro version on order already, so unless this one's paint job is MILES ahead of Hasbro's to the level of buster prime, then easy pass.

Kind of sad they are putting it in the Masterpiece line, as it sets a bad precident in my oppinion. Not because they are putting non g1 guys in there, though there is a bit of that. Mostly its because they are taking a gimicky kid friendly toy and repainting it. Whats next masterpiece Movie leader Megetron? (shudder)

To me the Masterpiece line represents the absolute pinacle of transformerdom, or at least it should be. They should be collectable, well, masterpieces. Something special. They were already pushing it with the repaints of the convoy mold but repainting a mainline toy? Disapointing.

If this means nicer paint apps, why are people so angry?

A strange choice, for sure. Let's hope the ROTF Prime mold gets a similar treatment, with all the Buster upgrades + over-the-top paint apps and accessories.

It means it's not the "normal" MP line. It's a repacked (repainted?) Leader Starscream who is founding the "MP-M" line. It's just a way to sell the figure in Japan, where everything is double the price anyway.

You people act as if "HasTak" EXPECTS you to import every Masterpiece. NOTHING could be further from the truth.

There was a hypothetical OCD MP collector invoked in this thread who is driven to collect every Masterpiece. Just put your wallet down, man! You're free! Hell, I can't believe "you" bought Dead Prime.

    LMAO!
    Lazy!
    This is pure garbage.
I wonder if battle hook OP will be the MP-M02.... or Shadow Command Megs will be MP-M03

Such an easy pass... I'll get them for $40-$50 at TRU thank you very much.

Here's betting the HAs somehow make it into Takara's Movie masterpieces...lol

Oh God, no! From all the potential Transformers 2010 characters to choose from as the next Masterpiece, Takara decides to go for Movie Starscream?? Hot Rod and Galvatron are crying in each other's arms.

If that happened, then the thread would only be two pages long.

LOL some of the comments here are priceless.

Takara releases Movie Starscream in a Movie Masterpiece line and the complaints start pouring in. When G1 Grimlock, a far inferior feat of engineering, was made bigger and hinges added to his T-Rex hands, all these whiners were falling over themselves in praise for such an "incredible" release.

Cover yourselves up, your nostalgia is showing -_-

Really, I will keep coming back to this thread just to savor the overreaction and tears. Much like the Elegy thread, really.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Leader/Mp-M Starscream "takes up a slot." Without that evidence, there is no reason to be upset. Takara is only selling the damn figure once AFAIK, they can call it whatever the hell they want on the box. And no, they don't give a shit if a bunch of American fans import it or not. You're bitching because you're not the target market.

I was always under the impression that the Masterpiece series was a strong effort to create a transformer that not only looks "perfect" in bot and alt mode, but also transforms somewhat similarly to what the character did in whichever universe/canon it's based.

This movie Starscream has way too much ventral kibble in alt mode. So while it may have a great mold for bot mode and an acceptable alt mode mold (in terms of F-22 general look), it doesn't fit my understanding of what the Masterpiece series stands for. (I leave out the transformation part for a movie masterpiece because the instruction book will be a novel.)

However, releasing a repaint of the Leader Starscream without the tattoos is almost a no-brainer.

    :lol

I consider myself fairly nostalgic, I'm not a big movie character design fan and even I can't figure out exactly why people are so pissed off by this news.

MP Prime's truck mode perfect? That is quite amusing. It has FEET.

Meanwhile, Leader Starscream's F-22 mode has maybe 10% more "ventral kibble" than the actual fighter...which, you sholud note, has its weapons bay down there.

I almost want to see a Masterpiece Movie Wheelie now just for the forum nerd-rage amusement alone.

Meh. Definitely geting the standard US retail release. I like the tattoos and I'm not going to spend all that money for a box (a very awesome box don't get me wrong...but a box nonetheless).

^ If it were an actual RC car, that would be outstanding! Even pretty cool if it were merely 1:1 scale. Granted, probably wouldn't be a sale to me, but very cool nonetheless. :D

Takara has been hinting for MONTHS now at a Rodimus Prime to be released later this year. So please tell me that you were being sarcastic. :banghead:
