Never knew there were so many legal eagles on the TFW boards. *Throws away my CA Bar License* Just two things: 1) IP cases are very difficult to win in court, especially those that go internationally - I'm assuming IGear is not a US company and have no physical presence(offices, warehouse, distribution, production, etc.) in the US - Though it could be argued, the mere fact that they are selling themselves to US customers puts them in the channels of distribution, that would simply require them to defend in US court - Even if they received a favorable ruling, they would need assistance and cooperation from China, good luck with that 2) Hasbro has allowed this to happen and that does not look favorably in proving their case - IGear would argue that Hasbro has sat on their hands and done nothing about it(BTS, Fansproject, ImpossibleToys, Igear previous releases), though there needs to be more facts to substantiate this - As consumers we really don't know what action Hasbro has taken, perhaps Hasbro has attempted a cease-or-desist, injunction or other legal action we simply don't know about it What's going to come of it? Likely nothing. Hasbro is a multi-billion corporation and what IGear and others earn are drops in the bucket. Though, if I were representing Hasbro, I would advise, they do something about it. Sitting by and doing nothing will look quite bad in the long run as more and more of these companies continue to make unofficial Transformers.
i honestly dont see how figures like these could kill the masterpiece line. the masterpiece figures are bigger, sell better, are official, but most important, THEY ARE CHEAPER!! now i will admit this fig looks really cool, and i will be mulling over getting him or not. but even if i got one of these, and hasbro released their own masterpiece coneheads, owning this small fake version would be the LAST thing that would stop me from getting the hasbro version.
Igear continues to create more products into a market that is already overpopulated. I am totally skipping this one, as I have skipped all their products so far. As an end user, I really can't care about legal issues etc but the fact of the matter is this: Igear stuff is very poor in quality. I saw a PP-01 displayed in a cabinet and held it in my hand. It was a pathetic light piece of shit. Give it a few years, it'll disintegrate into chewable plastic. Fansproject on the other hand, produces very high quality products. Save your breath people. And oh, did I mention that Igear stuff is so filthy expensive? Their recent trend is disgusting, asking up to 300 usd for their 50 limited silver and gold mini-convoys? YUCK. Utterly disgusting. They continue to play on exclusivity. Telling a collector that only 50 pieces will be made causes us to have an orgasm and shelve out our money. Come on people. You can do better than that.
I totally expect TakTom to produce more versions of the seeker mold. It was a joke before amongst singapore collectors that they would overuse their mold, but they have proven us right with the Ghost Starscream release

I think they look cool, but I'd rather wait for the eventual official releases, either by Takara/Tomy or Hasbro. It would look silly for three mini MP Coneheads to be standing next to the other three full-sized MP Seekers.
I would say this will be the case upstairs with the big guys at the end. "Aaaah you beat us to that. But let's see how good it is compare to ours." And life goes on as usual.
Switch625 - these igear seekers are going to be the same size, they are meant to fit right in with the legit seekers. also - is your name from the Def Leppard song? if so, cool!!! love that tune. if not, where from then? (i'm betting it is, anyway lol)

I wonder if this is called IP-PP03E because there are going to be a full set of A through F figures? 6 seekers? Maybe this is just the only one shown so far. Hmm. Say all you want about copyright infringement, whether this is MORE or LESS of it compared to the "Faith" figures. No matter how you shake a stick at is these figures are infringing like crazy, even though they are super awesome. And, really the whole "THIS is TOO far!!" statements have been getting tossed around for quite awhile now. The Fansproject stuff is different enough that they might be able to escape any troubles.
The Coneheads fit this mold better than the original 3 seekers, who's head seemed too compressed. I also like how they are making a point to keep their relative sizes more consistent to the cartoon.
I think the "E" in PP03E stands for "Elegy" which is their given name for this guy. I don't see what reason they would have for redoing the non conehead seekers since the size is the same.
