That toy screams "must buy" for me. I love triplechangers and if it's available from Takara Tomy I'd definitely get it.

It makes me sad to know I will never own that thing... I wonder what would've happened to Megs in season four to get him to look like THAT....

Because not all of us care about G1! I don't have a single G1 character in my collection! I want FICTION to go with my toys. Is that really that strange a concept? Is it that impossible to consider that not everyone cares about collecting re-does of characters from a cheesy '80s cartoon? That some of us want to have a reason to buy a toy other than 'it's a cool toy'?

I miss that about Transformers fandom: we used to be more about the fiction. Now we're so obsessed with every single toy, getting it, reviewing it, analyzing it 'til we're blue in the face, it's ridiculous. And kinda sad.

I mean I know shelfwarmer....I mean not every figures get the soldout treatment, but they do get pick up...well they should preview stuff more to see what fans want, I understand hasbro goal is to make $ and get the little ones involve...but kids nowadays have the shortest attention span ever now....if I'm hasbro I would preview molds more often, before a making a decision on if a figures gonna sell or not...

If they preview moulds THAT early, the competitors get an edge, and once again the potential to lose money arises. Besides, it's not like the majority of the target demographic is even aware that things like Botcon or pre-release samples exist, so it would be fruitless.

That's not my point at all.

My point is Hasbro bends over backwards to try and please the fans, and in return you blame them for "killing" Animated.

I'm not saying don't be dissapointed this product got cancelled, or that Animated is over, but don't blame Hasbro because they're a business first and foremost. Hasbro's not a person. It's not one mind that makes discisions. It's a corporation, and a damn faithful one. Hasbro's relationship with the Transformers fanbase is one of the closest I've seen with toy manufacturers. Be grateful for that.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you, I understand its business, and I'm very satitify with what hasbro got to offer...it just when you like a design or mold and they don't use it...like when a movie come out and its good, then they director say we were gonna do this but decided against becuz we didn't think it was good, but you as a fan is like that is a great idea...

I understand completely, and there's nothing wrong with that mindset.

It's the idea that there's someone to blame when there isn't, or blaming the wrong person. (or in this case, corporation)

Welp, I've officially hit the 'takes a shot of something, stares at a computer screen and sighs sadly at what could have been' stage of grief with the animated toyline.

I don't see what the big deal is, after all, we did get Shadow Command Megatron! Remember kids (at heart) positive thinking is the key!

NO! I'm failing to see a reason why Takara couldn't produce that guy. TFA didn't receive the love it deserved. Dammit.

I never blamed them for anything, although until we get decent information on why Animated ACTUALLY got canceled, I lump them in with CN and US retailers. They all share the blame, I figure.

And yes, they do 'try', but they don't always succeed. Especially when you're in the minority that wants the exact opposite of what most other fans want. Generations holds no interest to me, nor does Powered Core Combiners. After wading through five freaking years of the Unicron Trilogy, we finally got a Transformer show that I enjoyed since Beast Wars, and after a year (a YEAR!) on the shelves, it's swept under the rug like so much dust. And for what? More G1 characters? Feh.

Not that I think 'Generations and Power Core Combiners shouldn't have been released', that's just being an a-hole: I just know what I want, and when it tends to be the exact opposite of what most fans want, you can't help but feel a little frustrated.

Like I said though, ten years down the line, expect to still hear questions about Animated. I'll see to it myself.

So then why not continue the Animated series in comic form and release this Megatron in the Generations line a la Drift? Course, presuming that this mold would be a Leader-class might put another damper on it seeing the light of day since there are currently no plans to my knowledge of Generations Leader-class TFs.
