Well I guess we should start in forms that have you check what race you are. There is going to be hate despite what form it is in because humans are built that way. In the news, the was a "Kick a Ginger Day". (My apologies if that term offends anyone.) It seems I was the only one who think that was along the lines of a hate crime. Those victims share the same feelings as those who were harassed because of their natural looks.
That's such a horribly bad misnomer that I'm impressed if you actually believe this and didn't just post it to troll. As long as there is a differing opinion in the US, there is going to be racism. I'm hoping to avoid getting too political here, but it does sorta come back to checks and balances - people are free to say offensive things, so organizations like this exist to call them on the offensive stuff they say. Sure, they get it wrong sometimes, but groups like the NAACP are important to keep around for those times when politicans, actors and anybody famous enough to grab some TV screen time say inappropriate garbage, especially about another race. I do completely agree with you here. In this particular case, they COOOOMPLEEETELY dropped the ball. Absolutely. Nobody stopped and listened to the card a second time or thought about it in context. This is a case where it's probably in their best interest to go "Our bad, we kinda fucked this one up pretty royally." ...but it smacks of a lack of education to smear the NAACP as an organization that's useless and/or unproductive. Seriously? You really believe that?

No I don't think there is a ON/OFF switch...but if the concept of a world without racism is beyond you...well I'm sorry to hear that. I do think it can happen...but not as long as organizations like the NAACP excist. The NAACP USED to be very important. In the past they made huge steps to counter a horrible problem. Now with racism being much less prevalent than it once was, the hype-sensitive garbage has to stop. To me it is nothing but reverse racism. If I started the NAAWP I would be called a racist bigot and Jesse Jackson would be calling for my head on a stick. If I started WET to counter BET...well see above. If I started a Whites only college fund...see above. Whites only college... see above. Get where I am going here? I fail to see how my education could possibly have anything to do with how I feel about this. In fact it smacks of a lack of education that you could possibly make that link in your mind. My nursing degree and bachelors have nothing at all to do with me feeling the NAACP does nothing but worsen a problem. They are the biggest pushers of reverse racism out there. As soon as they stand up against a black guy making fun of and or being offesive to a white person, I will believe all their claims of equality and tolerance. I should also add that I do agree that there needs to be someone to point out the wrongs and bring them to light...but it needs to run all across the board. I just feel that the NAACP has run it's course and needs to be seriously re-vamped.
Sorry I should not put words in your mouth. I do agree that there will always be some form of racism. It is an unfortunate side effect of people being people. I agree with you here Indeed A huge part of the problem is people not being able to let go of the past. Yes it happened. I think huge steps have been made to make amends...though not a single living person was an actual victim of slavery...our country still feels the need to try to make up for it. To a certain degree I think we should take steps to make amends, but the NAACP blows it way out of proportion. However answer me honestly, What would happen to me (or anyone else) that started even a single one of those organizations? How is that right? How is that equality? How is that not racism? No I didn't miss history class...however it is just that. History. It is not now. It is not today. Today is the issue at hand. Today the NAACP has overplayed it's hand to such a degree that they have become an offensive group that does nothing to further it's "cause". Everytime I hear about something like this card, I can do nothing but laugh and feel reminded why I think these people are completly useless. I don't think they stand for nothing but reverse racism...but I do feel it is a major focal point of thier actions. If the rules do not apply to all, they do not apply to any. Plain and simple. If you are not treating everyone equally then you CAN NOT preach and bitch about equality.
You say education doesn't matter and flaunt your degree? Degrees mean nothing. I have one and I'm pant-on-head ******ed. The NAACP exists because racism will unfortunately always rear its ugly head. They're there to keep check and make sure someone's rights aren't violated due to racial differences. Sure they overreact.. but it's better to overreact than to under react. At least to me. There are white scholarships too. I believe there's an Italian American, an Irish American one.. basically any person with white European heritage has a scholarship fund. And mentioning the BET? Hiroshima would like to disagree with the bolded part...lol I have never heard of white only scholarships...maybe I should look them up. I want my masters. I'm not flaunting my degree...Ops implied that because I feel the NAACP is useless, I lack education. I consider myself at least moderatley educated. However I still find them useless and offensive. Like I said...if they were all encompassing, I would be behind them 100%.
