See that doesn't bother me though. I don't wear my emotions on my sleeve. They're only doing it due to their insecurities regardless of what they try to say to cover up for it.

Don't take it too hard or too personal big guy; I make gay sex jokes about everything.

Really, I do. Look at my post history. In the seven years and two post count resets I've been here like .... 74.879% of my 55-hundred-some-odd posts have been saucy.

Which insecurities is it exactly that I'm covering up for? Ain't no shame in my game.

I'm not taking it hard. Looks like you've got a lot of time to spend on here. And perhaps you know better about it then I.

I put up a thread about some kids I've been training and they happen to be TF fans, cool. They also have the nuts to get in a cage. Cool. No insults, no gay jokes. Just dropped a thread with a vid and people got miffed and started making references, etc. That's not a problem on my end. I don't feel the need to posture really. I just kind of look at it and chuckle to myself because deep down I know where I stand and most people can't share that ground. Folks can sit and type, one up me, talk about what I don't know...which is alot, make posts, FLAME ON... And such. It's fine.

I'm pretty easy going when it's all said and done.

Yeah, I do have a bit of time to spend on here, but then again, I was always one for great time management, plus the cushy office job helps, too.

It's great that you're what, eighteen years old, and already training others in mixed martial arts. That's really something. You're right about the chuckling; one does have to admit this has been a real comedy of errors though, when all is said and done.

I think the initial confusion happened because when most males refer to other males as their "boys" or their "kids" here, especially on this forum, people generally are led to believe that it is an adult speaking about his young children, particularly when one states that one's "boys" were on the floor playing with Transformers. Then you proceeded with a smattering of industry-specific terms which at least a couple of us were unfamiliar with, at least in the sense in which you were using them, and then there was a video of some athletic young men pummeling each other. It makes perfect sense now, obviously, but at the time ... not so much. To the casual, uninitiated reader it appeared that a father was talking about his young sons happily playing on the living room floor with Transformers, but then all of a sudden the children were described as doing very unchildlike things. And then the pummeling video. What were we to do? It's human nature to try to make sense out of the senselessness, to find some order in the perceived randomness. And tried we did. And it got silly. But ... so do most things in GD. Que sera, sera.

Now that everything's all cleared up, I for one can't wait for the blow-by-blow account of next month's fight!

29 actually. Careful what you ASSume. I've studied Martial Arts since 90. I started my own MMA career in 2002. I was fortunate to train under some of the greats including Erik Paulson and Royce Gracie. I'm also proud of the fact that a nobody like myself got to go to Macau, China, Thailand, Japan and a few other exotic locales.

Unfortunately for my era UFC was running in tents drawing little more then a few thousand people. The money was overseas. It wasn't until around 07 when my career was winding down that MMA caught on. By then my knees were bad, I had too much scar tissue and I was ready to slow down.

Those boys, kids...are just that to me. They are my boys. I train them. They win.

So... there you have it. The big problem here is your inferiority complex along with the other hecklers when it comes to an Alpha on the block. Deny it with the others, put me down, discredit me, insult me, but it's pretty evident at this point. I've seen it a thousand times over with your specific breed, kind...whatever you want to call it. And we all know at the end of the day you leave your cushy office chair... fight traffic to get home so you can watch some tv or something... it's still a primitive world and we still succumb to our baser instincts. And deep down we know who the superior's are. The girls know it. The masses know it. The cliques in the schools know it. The nerds in their offices know it. It's the scarred up broken Gladiator.

    Nothing will ever change that.

The only way you'd ever get a 'blow by blow' from me was if you put a mouth guard on and stepped into my world. Then you could get your 'blow by blow' with some extra.

And now I am done with this thread.

OP needs to re-read the thread. Everything went downhill from here:

Some people, myself included, were thrown off by your choice of wording. A simple clarification is all you needed to reply with, not the manly-man nerd-bashing flamejob you pulled out.

Wow, I've learned so much about you! I'd tell you about myself, but it seems you already know everything about me, which saves me from a lot of unnecessary typing. You're right about my inferiority complex though; I get this constant feeling that there's bigger and better people out there in the world than me. It's hard to describe ... it's like I know there some things that I'm very good at, but then I know there's a whole ton of things I'm not good at, and the crazy thing is that doesn't bother me at all. Who really wants to be "the best" at something anyway? If you're really or very good at something, you get the recognition, the accolades. But if you're the best at something, all you get is spite and jealousy and some little upstarts always trying to take all the glory away from you. Nuts to that, I say.

I appreciate and thank you for your offer to step into your world. I'm not one to shy away from new experiences, but let's face facts; you'd beat the crap out of me within a few seconds, and then at the end of the day, you'd be a 29-year-old highly-trained, world-class fighter who just severely beat up a 32-year-old average joe who has no training whatsoever and who has just swallowed a worrying amount of his own blood and teeth. Where's the challenge or pleasure in that? It would be a waste of your talent and my health and dental insurance.

Sorry about the age thing by the way. The video you linked to was posted by an eighteen year old, and there were so many people pointing in the video it was hard to tell who was who. I too get mistaken for being younger than I am. On the one hand you look good for your age, but on the other hand it's frustrating when you get carded at the liquor store!

It was the teenage remark that upset me. And all the flaming by the others. I was simply trying to share a little bit of my world.

It went down hill before that, there was no call for all those b.s. remarks prior to my finally saying something.

It's cool brah, there's some hardballing chats here but nothing's ever personal. You're a fighter talking to a non-fighter, so there's going to be some debate.

I smoke too much to fight, plus sex rules. So being a chainsmoker & a chainfucker does'nt lend itself well to the fighting thing, but the Rocky movies were awesome.

Well, it isn't so much the subject of your thread, but rather the manner in which it was presented. Instead of merely "sharing" a bit about your world, you made assertions (in your original post and later) as to universal allure of your chosen hobby. By incorporating appeals to "alpha" status and claims of the superior nature of your lifestyle, you may have appeared to be abrasively immodest and even a bit primitive. I don't doubt your enthusiasm for your hobby nor even fault you for having the level of self-confidence you seem to hold, but understand that there is a very large segment of society that finds MMA fighting (and fighting in general) as wholly silly. Those detractors are not compensating for any personal deficiencies, it's just a preference based upon a developed world view that has moved beyond recreational physical confrontation.

Definitely enjoy your hobby, but don't assume that your choices have created an inherently more authentic way of life than those of anyone else. Keep in mind when presenting this to others that it would be better to assume that your audience is unfamiliar with your hobby and that perhaps they require a more gentle introduction.

Abrasively immodest and even a bit primitive? I can deal with that. I can also deal with the fact that I love Transformers because my son and I can have lots of fun with them and not because they look cool on a shelf.

I can also deal with the fact that by being slightly primitive I don't buy 'me' I just am me, and I can deal with the fact that it doesn't bother me to greet my fear, embrace, and do my best to beat it.

It is as you said truly absolutely a new created more authentic way of life. When you get down to cleansing yourself of TV, and Porn, and devote your body to extensive training you begin to excel in ALL things. Not just the physical. Self Confidence becomes inherit in that. You said it best there trying to detract from the fact. It's true. It's easier just to download a life or jerk off to what you want it to be.

Fighting is silly? Pish Posh. Going off to die in some foreign country for some b.s. is silly to me. Dressing a certain way to be a certain thing? Silly. Agreeing with the masses to garner acceptance? Silly and at it's base, primitive. Buying a toy to look at? Silly. Absorbing so much TV and other commercial garbage that you can't tell your opinion from the one manufactured for you? Silly. Standing on your feet and swinging a punch because you love it and you want to see if you can hang so you can find out a little more about who you are? Nature. Alpha. Gladiatorial. A Fucking Force of Nature. People remember those things. And I can deal with that too. Better so alpha primitive then an amalgamation of commercialism and pseudo intellectualism.

Beyond that I really don't give a shuck of corn about the little pseudo dissection and pseudo clever remarks you so snobbishly put out, because there's alot more to us primitive fighters 'then meet's the eye.' Enjoy the pun.
