$10 credit is available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and both DS versions. I think Amazon just put this gc offer up this morning.

Doesn't a game have to become Game of the Year first to have a Game of the Year Edition? With all the great games coming out this year I highly doubt this game has much of a chance.

I'm still in the camp in saying that these are generic cheat codes. The PC version will more than likes use the exact same ones as the 360. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I hope not I think 3 is a good amount I don't want someone to come up and make me cancel my preorder for shockwave. But still it is highly unlikely as everyone else has been saying to late in the game to do this.

You still have to wonder why the official site says pre-order to unlock exclusive characters. Why pre-order at the other five stores if there are NO CHARACTERS to unlock? In The US, Shockwave, Demolisher and Jazz are exclusive to their respective stores: Gamestop, Amazon.com and Best Buy.

It makes sense to believe all stores will get a character.

True but still it seems to late to not have all preorder characters known at this point. But then again when it comes to marketing War for Cybertron has diffently been poor. But still an amazing looking game I can not wait for.

    I agree on all points.

I think High Moon is waiting for some big events like E3 (free press) to make announcements, which is just days before the game's release. There’s an Anime and gaming Expo happening this weekend in London, which is scheduled to have a working demo of War For Cybertron for attendees to play!

Why would any store want their pre order bonus to be announced just days before the games release? The idea is to attract the buyers to a specific store. E3 is in the middle of June. What store is gonna bother to do that this late in the game?

BTW, I don't know if anyone has noticed or mentioned, I haven't checked yet, but it appears that Sears/Kmart have announced their pre order bonuses. A free comic book!

    Transformers: War for Cybertron

I'm guessing that the list of stores is for pre order bonuses, not just playable characters.

Yeah, I know. I made a thread about this three or so hours ago:
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...et-their-exclusive-war-cybertron-content.html

It’s still feels weird for the site to tell viewers to pre-order to unlock exclusive characters when two of five stores (so far) have an item that isn’t a character but an exclusive item.

So here things are as they are now:

At the end of the day these are just characters that will be usable "only" be unlocked for the escalation mode. We'll still see them in the campaign as npc's and as available body types in multiplayer regardless of pre orders. So considering how insignificant these pre order characters are to the overall game I doubt High Moon is making any priority to get many bonus characters out or too see to it that each faction gets an even amount.

Not two of five: Sears owns Kmart. So its pretty much just one of five.

I pre-ordered today at GameStop. The guy was very nice so I don't know why everyone complains about what jerks they are. Maybe they are only nice because it's Tennessee.

    I never saw this reply (^_^; )

I’m aware of Sears and Kmart being under the same umbrella and all. I separated them because they are still two separate companies, and because the official War For Cybertron site treats them as individual companies too. It’s sort of funny, as I sort of thought they’d get the same exclusive since their online ordering system is interconnect, though I hoped they’d be different.

Their exclusive offer has been removed, so who knows? They may get something different and unique after all…

Online Pre-ordering is your friend ;)

Sounds like you had a very rare experience. Many others have had such luck. Tell how things go after you complete your transaction. Hopefully, you get your pre-order code.

it's really hit or miss with gamestop, sometimes employees are nice, sometimes they look down on you for buying games they think suck, and sometimes they just don't care about their customers and ignore you and continue talking with their friends.

But i think the real reason people dislike gamestop is the low trade in prices they offer and how a recently released used game is only $5 cheaper than a brand new one. They don't publish their trade in values either. I remember funcoland used to do that, which was awesome (i think they either changed into or were bought out by gamestop)

i'm pretty sure the Toy R US exclusive is Silverbolt for the DS version that someone posted a few days back. Not all of these exclusives are for the PS3/360.

    That would be me:D

I never thought of the exclusive being limited to one system, as all games are displayed on the official home page where it says pre-order to unlock exclusive characters. At present, the only exclusives, save for the DS’ Silverbolt bonus character, are all for the PS3 and XBOX 360, so I always assumed the ones to follow would be those, as those are the only ones I'm looking forward to. Though, I thought exclusives would happen, in some fashion, for all games.

High Moon Studios only developed the PC, PS3 and XBOX 360 versions—other (quieter) companies are responsible for the wii and DS versions. With High Moon Studios coming to the forefront to keep us informed, I think we all sort of keep looking to them for news—they’re the only ones talking.
