I'm glad I got mine months ago, but at the end of the day the QC is the same from both TakaTomy and KO makers.
I would be in favor of it only if the price is way less than the real thing. If you can't get a discount, there is little point to a KO like this. I would be up for high quality versions in a whole rainbow of colors, official and unofficial.
At this rate with the way that KO's are really getting better each year, it's safe to say that if you want to ensure you are getting the real deal, try your best to get a new item during the time it is released to avoid getting a resold KO.
well hell...i just got a henkei thundercracker a month or so ago...had to wrap clear tape around his cannons pegs to keep them attached to the arms...if they fix that with the KO and it is decent quality..i would buy one since my skywarp is the hasbro version....and thrust, dirge and thundercracker are all henkei...
KO companies aren't that bright are they? It seems to be some untapped potential in the classic seekers mold. Why give us what we have or can get for nearly the sme cost. When you could do Sunstorm, Thundercracker, the Generic purple seekers or the cartoon Rainmaker variations of the mold. And even a Wildrider colored Hot Rod or a Breakdown colored Sideswipe, etc. Those ideas would get my money.
You know what? If these companies had a brain cell in them at all, they would do these toys and sell the deluxe versions at 9.99. I would buy dozens of them!!!!
Well, here's a pic of the real deal. It's very hard to tell, but it looks like there are some very subtle difference. We would need a better shot of the KO for better comparison.
Agree 100%. Now if they threw in Sunstrom and Dirge my Classics/Universe/Henkei collection would be complete.
and the ko is.................? make no prefence to me i own few knockoffs so i dont care got them cheaper than the original ones
Yeah, no way this stuff sells for 9.99. If it was 10 bucks, the quality would be really bad... I just hope these guys can make a 20-30 dollar Thundercracker I could gut for parts on my Henkei.... The Nail Polish thing worked ok but I'd still like them to be tighter.
I hate KOs. Everytime I buy a G1 toy I always wonder in the back of my mind if it's legit or just another cheap imitation. Now you'll have to wonder when you buy a loose Skywarp.
Actually, they don't really have to put out Rainmaker Seekers when there's demand for Skywarp and Thundercracker. Someone released KO versions of Thundercracker and Skywarp several months back, along with KO versions of Classics Voyager Optimus, Nemesis and Ultra Magnus. No idea if these bootlegged Henkei are from the same manufacturer though. You can solve this problem by...avoiding G1 toys altogether.
@Shelfwarmercon: it's a straight KO that came from a better mold, it's much better mold than the previous orange seekers. Just that somebody showwed that with little paint apps, you can get and near perfect resemblance to the actual thing I guess someone decided to clean up the mold and redeco them as an exact replica I wonder why they never done a KO out of rodimus & hound?
Same here. I'd be interested to see what's their selection process for picking which mold to knock off.
