I totally agree. Maybe because they actually HAD character. Other than these two, they all feel the same except Jetfire, IMO. I dunno, I guess I just found them the most distinctive.

 

I didn't see either on the big screen and plan to not go to the third one either, I bought TF 2007 2nd hand on Dvd for £1.00 [Though I do have several unopened japanese copies I was forced to buy to get the toys that came with them - that was incidental rather than deliberate].
I've still not bothered to watch ROTF properly all the way through, I just skimmed it a bit. And have yet to buy it on DVD to keep.

Not out of any great dislike, I'm just in this for the toys and any media remains a remote concern by comparison to that, thus the unopened Japanese Dvds [Likewise the old takara shows dvd also remain as yet unwatched].
I'll probably get ROTF AND TF#3 at carboot sales for a pound or two at some point in the future as I would any other comic book or sci fi movie.

 

I find it a bit odd that people still want to throw around the term hate to dismiss what other people have to say.

Perhaps we are far enough away from the time of the lovers and haters war that we've forgotten what the lovers and haters were really like. The flame wars, the personal attacks, the idea that fans should be ran out of the fandom, the occasional death wishes and death threats toward other fans. Back when you couldn't discuss anything because threads were sometimes closed within hours of opening because fans couldn't accept that other fans would disagree with them.

The people who use the term hate either don't know or forgot just how ugly hate can be among Transformers fans.

Ha ha, although I do find it funny when people allude to me being a "hater" since I've had my share of personal attacks and death wishes for pointing out positive things back in the bad days.

The only things we have left are people who were satisfied or dissatisfied since I can't think of anyone left who can't make a list of both the things they liked and did not like in both films.

 

Not entirely related news but I saw my first Chevy Spark on the road today on my way to work. Not a huge fan of the Twins - can take or leave them - but I have to say I did get just a little bit excited as I recognised it from behing. Is that slightly sad? It's quite a nice little car in person.

 

We've got one running around where i live in the UK... it is a nice car, just a bit small for my taste/needs

It would have been nice if they could have found a role for all 3 of them.

If I'm reading this right 2 of the above are getting released in some form an one isn't.
and I think there is also still a 3 door Spark as well as a 5 door as They seem to show up on Google image search (there's a silver one for example)

I agree. The new paint scheme just doesn't pull off their random and funny characters well at all. Instead, it makes them appear more like possible stout ninja figures.  :

Honestly though, only a few TFs were given a chance to develop their characters. If I remember correctly, those were only (in TFTM and ROTF) Prime, Bumblebee, Frenzy(?), Jetfire and the twins (IMO).

Then again, there were way too many characters in ROTF, so it'll be worse if that 3rd chevy popped in. Just my opinion.

 

In all fairness, the one they left out is kinda hideous.

 

It's a tough task to be so ugly you can't hang out with Skids and Mudflap.

No "IMO" about it. I think you're absolutely right. But then, we had to know that was going to happen going in to this franchise. There's a far cry difference between seasons of a show and a 2-2.5 hour movie. We were only ever going to get so much characterization in the first place. All things considered, I think they did a pretty good job. Especially with some of the more subtle, quick character profiles given ("damn, I'm good").

But I still don't think these are the "real" twins. I'm telling you, it just doesn't fit. If they are, I agree with most of you: FAIL. But I can't shake the feeling that with the minor details (which were labeled spoilers so I won't list them here) we've been given so far, it makes more sense to think that they're Decepticons trying to fudge the Autobots reps.

THAT's just IMO, lol.

You have a point there. Obviously, the production team has a lot of challenges to cram everything into a movie. Although I admire that, I still have to say that the storyline could've been better.. :S

Hmm.... If that happens, then I wanna see how that turns out.  

 

I just hope *fingers crossed* the Twins' robot modes have been changed from their original Quasimoto designs. Give them symmetrical arms, and longer legs for pete's sake. I went so far as to eject Skids from my collection after I got tired of how ugly he is; which resulted in my never wanting to buy Mudflap - something I could easily remedy since he's currently pegsitting in EVERY store in town.
